Yeah, Mega Man's pretty unforgiving. It's that devious kind of difficult, though, that has a way of hooking you. It's tough, but not so tough that you want to give up. You're always just close enough to victory that you get pulled back in, because "this time, I'll make it for sure!"

Brilliant game design, really.

I've been playing games since commodore times...but I didnt get my hands on battletoads untill last year....it might be that I've grown soft with all the pampering from the game industry but holy crap on a popsicle...you gotta have balls of steel and a patience from beyond the grave to deal with this monster of a game

Ah Megaman 2 is not that bad unless you play it on hard.

Personally I wish there were more games like this nowadays. I am fine with the odd easy game but there should be a couple of franchises like Ninja Gaiden and Meat Boy that strive to be hard.

Hell Yeah, bring back the Ghosts and Goblins and Battletoads.

Be sure to get your kids therapy just in case they can't beat the game XD

Nah it'll put some hair on their damn chests and drop their voices an octave. I know the new Gaidens and stuff like that aren't as bad but we need a good Battletoad/Ghosts and Goblins/Contra once and awhile. At least we have thigns like I want to be that guy and VVVVVV.

While I don't know what VVVVVV is I can say that "I want to be the guy" Wins hands down and is only for the REAL MEN of Gaming

It is very similar in premise to I want to be the guy. It is another really hard well hard enough 2d platformer.

I'd probably lose faith in the industry if Megaman games ever stopped being hard. I was so happy when Megaman 9 came out and was actually as hard as it's NES predecessors.

THIS GAME WAS AWESOME! But damn, those boss battles......

... Your kidding right? I loved that game when I was a kid. And I remember on my first playthrough I only died like 3 times. And that was from miss jumping. Bosses were EASY.

Well, I was like 5, so maybe that explains a bit.

As it should be, since 9 was trying hard to emulate 2, the game which got most people into it as well as one of the hardest ones. I preferred 10 myself, but 6 is undoubtedly the easiest one- every robot master is easy even without their weakness because their patterns are so slow and you have sliding and the Mega Buster.

As for the hardest (but still fun) Mega Man of all, well...

Actually Megaman 9 is considerably hard, mainly because it's a ***** to figure out everyones weakness when the bosses are Galaxyman, Jewelman, Tornadoman, Plugman, Cementman and even more confusing ones :/

I would've whipped out the shotgun at "I have a solid 1.0 KDR in Halo." 1.0 KDR is not bragging material, especially in a game that is all deathmatch. And if that's what Halo is (not a fan, so I don't know), then it's really not anything to brag about. It just means you got a kill for each time you died. Sure you could do worse, but you could do a lot better too.

I bought Megaman Zero 3 around 2005.

I have yet to complete anything beyond the fire lizard (default first stage), and still whip it out to play now and again.
