I barely remember that game (my bro had it). I hope that the film has a lot more logic then why people are out about in a zombie outbreak.

Zombies Ate My Neighbours is one of my favorite games of all time, but I'm sure this film will suck. Still if the film does get made there's a better chance that Lucasarts would release the original game on XBLA and/or PSN so for that reason alone I hope it gets made.

I don't know... the whole "coming-of-age high school story" has me a little on edge - makes me think they might actualy take this movie perfectly sseriously, which is NOT how you make a movie based on a game that was basicaly a parody of other movies. It's pretty much has to be a comedy, that's for sure - you can't really take something where zombies are killed by water pistols seriously and expect to succeed, can you?
But hey, "Superbad + Zombieland + Home Alone" style? Sounds like it could work... IF they do it right.

Hmm, this movie is either going to be awsome, or fail horribly
The skeptic in me points to the latter unless they have someone just like Jesse Eisenberg on speeddial.

Man, I loved this game. A movie adaptation has serious promise. Every movie can, of course, be horrible, but i'm optimistic. I do have fond memories of the scariness of Chainsaw Hedgemaze Mayham, or how it seemed like soda cans were the only feasible way to fight the giant baby.

Nostalgia triiippp. :0

Still, it's prolly gonna suck. At least they'll keep Uwe Boll far, far away.

I know my boyfriend will be really excited over this. Zombies ate my neighbors was a favorite game of his and recently he got hold of a copy of the game to play again (thanks to me)

Ehh... sounds a bit like Dance of the Dead, the one that starred the kid from Otis, not the one with Robert Englund. I'll see it if I get a chance to, but I'm not really rooting for it.

Not sure if want. One of my favorite old titles, to be sure, but a movie adaptation of any game sends up red flags all over the place for me. I'll watch warily.

Wait wait wait, hold it.

A movie based on a game that's practically based on a whole bunch of movies?

Come on, people. Do the math.

I see it being like Zombieland, which is kinda weird to me. Because, you know, Z-land was a movie based on a whole subculture (including bad movies, great spoofs, books, games, DLC, and students accosting people on subways, trains, and college lawns) that developed after some amusingly terrifying films were made. And now this movie is using it as inspiration.

On the bright side, the movie tie-in game is retroactively fantastic!

All this talk about Cera and Eisenberg has me bemused. They are entirely the wrong kind of nerd. Zeke isn't mopey and introspective, he's somewhere between Duckie and Evil Ed.
As for the movie, it could be the best thing ever, or it could be a tedious Seltzerberger [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SeltzerAndFriedberg] storm of jokeless references.
My own litmus test will be the presence or absence of a scene where the heroes battle a 50-foot infant with squirt guns. That alone would be worth an additional 85 minutes of crap. Especially if it played out like a Spielberg war film.

two words.

OH SHIT.

OT: Mixed opinions on me but like all promising adaptations it will most likely fall to the curse of games--->Movies or Movies---->Games

So have they secured Michael Cera yet? You know the odds are greater that he will be cast in the lead than him not being cast at all.

A wise man once said... This will not end well.
You freakin' ninja, I was just about to say about Michael Cera. He wold be perfect for the role. I can genuinly picture it now.

Personally I think it will be an alright film, It will be some ridiculous affectionate parody of B-movie horror, kind of like what Black Dynamite was to Blaxploitation. Although I know what would make it really good.

Edgar Wright. Probs not gonna happen though. Oh well.
