This made me laugh and i would've done the same. I'm sorry but do i want a 3 disc, graphical downgrade version of the game on a console which isn't synonymous with Final Fantasy? No, no i don't. Good on 'em.
I know, right? They should release it on the Wii. After all, the Final Fantasy franchise started on Nintendo consoles.

I hate fanboys. Although it is very alluring not to apply logic to anything on a daily basis, it makes you look like an ass. I mean they could sell the bundle to some fat american or another fanboy for like double the price. Someone will buy it.

and what the hell Mass Effect 1 or 2 in going on any console... that is a PC game through and through (mouse-aim is a dream for that game).
You realize that Mass Effect was a 360 exclusive for quite a while, right?
You haven't played the PC version (which only came out 5 months later), so many fundamental problems with the 360 release were eliminated (the buggy fixed for one) and is such a more refined release.

Jesus Christ on sale, fanboys are idiots. FFXIII would never have been as big a production had it not launched cross platform. The amount of money/resources put into a game is directly related to your retail market. If more people can buy the game, then the game will be better/bigger. So to all you PS3 fanboys, the Xbox made your game better. FACT.

Having said that, I own both consoles and I bought it for the PS3, but I sure as sh*t didn't boo the Xbox version.

I really don't understand why people are getting so mad about Final Fantasy XIII being multi-platform.

If they don't like the x-box version than they can buy the PS3 version. It isn't like it is only exclusive to the 360, it is on the PS3 as well.

The more people you can get to like the series the better. I would love it if Bioware ported Mass Effect 1 and 2 to the PS3. They are awesome games that should be able to be played by everybody, not just owners of one console.

It's fairly easy to see things like compression artifacts on an HD display.
I would bet a lot of money that the average person, and even the average gamer, have no clue in hell what a "compression artifact" is or looks like.
I would bet alot more money that these people have seen compression artifacts without knowing what they are. You know when videos have those strange "squares", that is a compression artifact. More info. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_artifact]

I appreciate the imparting of knowledge I did not previously have, however I do not recall seeing any compression artifacts in my personal experience watching people play the game or in the side by side comparison videos.

Why so many emotional people, yeah, so some people booed, and what? How is that detrimental to your life and your console? If they are booing because they dislike 360, no amount of calling them fanboys or maoning about it will change thier opinion anyway.

They could in fact be moaning about the dubbed down version, lighten up, giggle a bit, move on, yikes. Can't even boo now :/

And somewhere in his cold empty office, a Sony Employee chuckles evilly to himself.
The forum trolling was worth it.

You know, if I had heard of that contest, I would have started swimming across the ocean, just for that free ""HIGH COST CONSOLE","RPG" and whatever else was in there" Bundle. I don't care how bad people thought that bundle was, when someone offers you something like that, you don't push away the free offer, you jump at it like a stash of gold (Unless there's a firebreathing Hyena in the way).

Ah well, if they're going to act like idiots, that's their problem.

What does it matter if it's launched for the 360? Ps3 and 360 are not so much different. They have their differences but the basic idea is the same, so I don't understand why people are freaking out about this.

This is what I was trying to say.

Seems like 95% of the responses to this event don't take that into account.

"OMG THEY HAVE A OPINION! Fuck these fanboys!"

Just seems to be like they have been reading up on what happened to get the game on the 360 and feel that they were cheated so that a market that isn't even popularly known for playing RPG's might dabble.

As I said before, Every year the GOTY (to my knowledge) ends up being a FPS on the 360. Unless Final Fantasy has a lot of shooting in it I don't see why they marketed on the 360.

I have no hate for the 360 (I just don't use mine) but the whole marketing move seemed odd.

If both consoles were on par in terms of power (like back when Soul Calibur ended up on all 3) it wouldn't have been very dramatic. Plus at that time the game was something all 3 console owners likely would have played.

Meh. What can you do.

It is getting difficult these days to keep track of what you can safely not like (Atkinson) and what you must like (apparently multiplatform game production). There should probably be a thread started to chronicle all the things so every person has a quick reference.

We could make them into little pocketbooks and sell them for a few bucks. End up making millions.

I think you are comparing apples to oranges.

Upconverting (porting to something with more power) gives you room to grow and no necessity to limit yourself. Downconverting (porting to something with less power) reduces your room to grow and given time constraints for development usually degrades the final product.

I love my DS but basically every game for a console that was ported to it was terrible. By contrast a few games that were for it and ported to consoles ended up being quite enjoyable.

I like when people give me an upgrade and choices I don't like when people give me a downgrade and choices.

No reason to have bland crackers that everyone likes when you could have delicious crackers that only some people like. Why? Because other companies can make crackers for the other people. Now you suddenly have everyone getting something they love and multiple companies succeeding and all their employees getting paid. You have competition and...well...tons of crackers.

I'm a fan of diversity in games not so much a fan of diversity in console ports. Sort of like when things get ported back and forth from PC to consoles. Something gets lost in translation that stings really bad.

Hey least when it red rings a few months later your not upset on how much you paid for it.

And when Microsoft finds out you didn't pay for it and refuses to fix it....

I dunno I would've booed too. I hate that xbox keeps coming out with these elite bundles and advertises them to me, the guy who bought an elite for what now seems like a ridiculous price. do they think I'll jump on buying a new console? the old beast works perfectly, though I'd love to have a 250gb hard drive(my brother bought the MW2 elite, probably just to make me jealous). I hate when a company thinks I want something I already have that they made no less. "win this slightly different xbox with a bigger hard drive!" seriously, give me something practical, or impractical I don't care, just not the thing I already own.
