Oh really? [http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2009/09/lightning1.jpg] I don't mind if you prefer one console over another for no apparent reason, but lets not lie to ourselves, eh?orangeapples said:I just don't like how the 360 is constantly whoring itself with special edition bundles..

Haha! That would have made the scene even better!Cliff_m85 said:Me as the announcer: "Really? Ok, fuck it. It's mine!"
*leaves with Xbox bundle*
I remember the COD commericals only had the 360 logo at the end making it seem like an exclusive.Premonition said:Exactly why I'm so pissed at this as well. I mean, advertisements for multi platform games are ALWAYS with all the consoles in the end. Only now it's a 360 exclusive commercial. It's like a Huge slap in the face for the Trey owners.Jamiemitsu said:Heh, I probably would have booed, too.
I mean, FFXIII was originally meant to be a ps3 exclusive, and there are TV ads in the uk which only acknowledge the 360, almost as if its an xbox exclusive.
EDIT: OBJECTION!Phoenix Arrow said:Here's a sequence of events:
- Current gen consoles announced.
- FF fanboys naturally assumed they would still be Sony only.
- FF fanboys queue out the door on release day to buy one of the 2 PS3's every store stocked.
- FFXI ported to 360. Noone really noticed.
- FFXIII announced on 360. People notice.
- FF fanboys bitter about paying £100 more for a console they don't need anymore. Everyone but their or Squares fault. Particularly Microsoft. How dare they let SE develop a game on their console. Arseholes.
Another mystery solved by Phoenix Arrow.
You're right, nobody is buying the Xbox 360 any more [http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/11/february-npd-xbox-360-and-bioshock-2-sales-heat-up/].orangeapples said:I'd be booing too. Not because I hate the idea of making FFXIII cross-platform. I just don't like how the 360 is constantly whoring itself with special edition bundles. There is no more market for your console. Everyone who is considering getting one has it already. Give it up Microsoft. And to the average Joe, the PS3 does everything you can do and MORE. That's probably why they keep whoring themselves out.
No... we didn't?Spirultima said:Hypocritical statements for the win.John Funk said:Oh, right. Fanboys. Logic does not apply here.
I have a very good reason for disliking FFXIII on the 360.
We as PS3 owners lost out because of you 360 owners.
By that logic shouldn't you hate Sony equally for not holding onto a potential exclusive? I think that's what I find confusing about the whole situation, even if you ascribe to the PS3 version being dumbed down for the xbox360 - why is there no fan hate directed towards Square-Enix and Sony?Spirultima said:Hypocritical statements for the win.John Funk said:Oh, right. i'll have to agree its a console people a game will be he same game just different controllers fanboys need to stop being so bloody pickyTheZapper said:Well, that's the most pathetic thing I've seen all day.
Damn Fanboys.
This. Final Fantasy wasn't originally a Sony exclusive, nor has it been for a long time, what with all the Gamecube, Wii and DS titles 'n' all.Jhereg42 said:This is not even close to this hypothetical. FF was originally a nintendo franchise that moved to the PSX because nintendo refused to move on to CD-ROMs as their primary form of Media. Square Enix realized that attaching themselves to the PS3 alone when the two consoles have pretty much divided the market in half was stupid. What did Sony ever do for them, really. They did not contribute to development costs (a la Mass Effect and KOTOR). They were not under some sort of contract. Square-Enix was under no obligation to justify their fan-boy's purchase of the PS3 when it was never annouonced as an exclusive. It was just assumed.
This whole console wars thing is getting really freaking old.
NOW.Spirultima said:Yup, your full of it.
(No I'm not.)
You assume we only bought the PS3 because of Final Fantasy?
(No, but for an SE fanboy, I'm sure it was a major factor.)
Read that. Then read it again and think about what you said. We're not angry because it's on the 360, we're just angry because it got released on the 360. The 360 isn't a bloody Atari Jaguar, it can handle the same amount of gameplay as a PS3 game, it just has to be put across multiple dics to handle the space. I'm talking about the game itself of course. The graphics, the audio and things like that are better on the PS3, I've seen them side by side. So please tell me, what exactly are you missing?Spirultima said:You also assume were angry because its on 360?
We're freakin' angry because when it was put on the 360; Square Enix had to work to both consoles power, ergo the PS3 losing out.
That wasn't my point. The point was that SE were proving that they were willing to develop FF games on both consoles and weren't sword to Sony anymore.Spirultima said:(Oh and for the record, any Final Fantasy fan worth their oxygen doesn't count FFXI as an actual Final Fantasy)
