Eh... It'd be a bit like Halo going multi-platform. Yeah, the early history of the developer wasn't with Microsoft, but the two have become so linked that it's a bit like a betrayal of the original fans.

Remember all the people complaining about how CoD had forgotten the PC gaming grounds in which it had been planted, blossoming instead in the verdant console greens? It's kind of the same thing.

Imagine Mario going multi-platform.
this

OT: i woulda boo'd meself too. could give less than 2 shits if FF started on nintendo, ff equals ps on the general populace... hence why we show our discomfort by booing. or typing that we woulda boo'd too xD

i guess, we just don't see halo dudes really buying "our" game anyway... that's why it's even MORE of a blasphemy... to us fanboys.

....remind me again why the FF fans are pissed that its also on 360. I mean, if they suddenly said half-way through they would ONLY release it on 360. Then i could understand. But, they said it is on both 360 AND PS3....why is this such a big deal?

Fine, you dont want the 360, you can get a punch in the balls instead.

Thats what they should have done.

Also the booing was so bland, put some SOUL into your booing....
Or a Molotov Cocktail. They make EVERYTHING better.

Heh, I probably would have booed, too.

I mean, FFXIII was originally meant to be a ps3 exclusive, and there are TV ads in the uk which only acknowledge the 360, almost as if its an xbox exclusive.
Exactly why I'm so pissed at this as well. I mean, advertisements for multi platform games are ALWAYS with all the consoles in the end. Only now it's a 360 exclusive commercial. It's like a Huge slap in the face for the Trey owners.
See, this is something I'll never understand. Does it really matter if the game is advertised on TV towards your console of choice or not? The game is on your console, you can buy the game and play it - why do you care so damn much how it is advertised?

The Assassin's Creed series have been advertised as PS3-only games (if thats what you're implying) on TV, so let's not assume this is the first-time this has occurred - at the end of the day Square-Enix want to make money - and predicted the 360 version would sell more copies, thus they advertised that version (I also assume Microsoft included this advertising campaign as part of the deal that put the game on the 360 in the first place).

In short, why do you care so much - it doesn't adversely effect you in any way - yet you compare it to "a slap in the face". Care to explain? (besides being a fanboy of course)

they were booing free stuff? i mean i know they're fanbois, but if they're PS3 fanboys then they already have a PS3, so why would they want another?

if they are upset with ff13 being on the 360 they only have one company to blame and that is sony. They are losing this console war and to keep up there selling exclusives you see alot of ps3 exclusives ending up on the 360 but there is very little traffic going the other way.So what does this say? that sony are losing the battle so dont blame square enix for the choice of making the most profit and instead look at why this is happening.

Do they not realise they can sell it on ebay for more than it's value?

Then go buy a PS3 and FF13 from somewhere else? It's what I would have done, well, i've already a PS3 and I'm happy with it, so I would have stopped with selling the 360 online.

a game like this cannot look good on the xbox, it needs to stay on the ps3, multiplatform games hurt the ps3 because..

its easy to program first for the xbox then port it over to the ps3, in turn the graphics are not as good for the ps3 as they should be. the proof is in games like GTA, Ghostbusters, MW2, and so on.

if you take exclusives for both systems and put them side to side the PS3 always looks much better,
"Cannot look good on xbox"? I smell fan boy. It may well look better on the PS3 (and would look better still on the PC) but that is not the same as not being able to look good on the 360. I'm sure its an attractive title on the 360, FF is always well polished. Sqeenix obviously believe that multiplatform is beneficial for the game or it would still be an exclusive.

Well I don't blame them, the blu-ray disc was not used to full capacity and the developers did say they cut a lot out and had trouble with the 360 version in terms of deadline (so not enough space, not enough time), that and the 3-disc system seems to have made the game much more linear and less open-world.

Even if you don't mind all that it is blatantly clear the Xbox 260 version is far inferior to the PS3 version, with only 576p resolution, horribly compressed cutscenes, generally a maggoty port or an engine Refined for PS3.

All in all, big fucking mistake porting Final Fantasy to the 360, final fantasy is such a big game it really HAS to be exclusive for one console, you can't dumb-down to the lowest common denominator.

I think the fans would have begrudgingly accepted if FFXIII had been a 360 exclusive (the move of the franchise from Nintendo to Sony was accepted fairly well) but this "worst of both worlds" solution serves no one but the accountants.

I'm also calling bullshit on the way the game is advertised, in the UK with the big giant Xbox 360 logo at the end and the PS3 logo only seen briefly in the fine print (have to pause a pre-recorded ad and rewind to spot it), I'm sorry but that gives the impression the game is a 360 exclusive when the 360 version is by FAR the worst. No one should EVER consider getting an Xbox 360 to play FF-XIII, it's just if you HAPPEN to own a 360 and not a PS3, then MAYBE get it for 360. Otherwise don't touch the 360 version with a 20 foot pole.

I think it's a fine prize, but I honestly think it really should have been on the PS3.

The mind boggles..

I hope that security guard got the fight he was looking for. He was probably swamped by the tide of angry fanboys.
