BOOO. How dare you give us a FREE FUCKING CONSOLE. It's not like they're going around offering kicks in the nuts you bloody muppets. Christ, if you hate it that much, sell it.
Also, most of those people look like very bad cosplayers. Most of 'em look downright silly. Stupid fanboys.

On an unrelated not, I really liked the dubstep song they had on the end of that video, wish I knew what it was.

Ungrateful gits. I'm no fan of the 360 but a prize is a prize and it might aspect me to try 360 games etc. Plus there's always trade-in stores...Minus EB Games, bloody rip-off artists

To put it in perspective, PC gamers, what if you won a contest for the Mac version of Starcraft II? Are you feeling pissed yet?
Ummm, am I supposed to be feeling pissed yet, because I am not in the slightest. "Hey, cool. I won a free copy of Starcraft 2. Sucks that I don't have a Mac, but I am sure I can find a friend that does or find something else to do with it."

I got this wonderful mental image of all these people booing their friends and family at Christmas, Birthday or some other gift giving occasion for the sheer audacity of giving a gift that's just slightly wrong. Wow, these people must be a horrible ungrateful group to buy presents for.

Yes...with fanboy-ism, logic does not apply. Ever.

Then again, I haven't played a Final Fantasy game since Tactics Advance for the GBA, so...what do I know, right? I never got into the whole series, so I'd most likely boo when they announced there was going to be another Final Fantasy.

The back-alley beating would be totally worth seeing their faces when I boo their special little franchise. :D

To everyone speaking technical jargon about how the PS3 version looks worse than it could have, or that the 360 is an inferior port:

Have you seen the game on both consoles!? It looks fucking gorgeous on both. It's like complaining that you got a 1.8k diamond instead of a 1.9k diamond.

I also remember when G4 asked a bunch of random people in Japan during the launch of the two consoles which one they were more excited for.

Most everyone said the 360.

are they perhaps booing because they believe FF has been dimmed down for the 360, something I still don't know is true or not?
It's true.
Imperceptibly.

Fuck all your opinions. This goes beyond fanboy-ism...well, actually, no it doesn't, but this is more-justified fanboy-ism than what happens with, say, which console is better.

Exclusive games have always been a part of gaming culture, and if they start to mix and match, people WILL be pissed. What if they decided to put mario on the PS3? Or made a Halo game for the Wii? Nintendo's wide variety of over-used characters are still very much the face of Nintendo. Microsoft has Halo, Gears of War, and all the other grunting man-children with too much armor. Playstation is all about God of War, FINAL FANTASY (the 3-d ones), and even Rachet & Clank.

The moral is don't fuck with a GAME'S fanbase. Console 'tards will usually break their code to play other console games, if they're good enough. People who have played the Final Fantasy series from the original Playstation are NOT going to be thrilled that they are being offered a 360. Console fanbase only lasts a year or so, game fanbase stretches all the way back, across generations, even. You just don't fuck with that.

To put it in perspective, PC gamers, what if you won a contest for the Mac version of Starcraft II? Are you feeling pissed yet?
I think I may get this game now on 360 just to spite people like you. Have never even played a Final Fantasy before nor played any JRPG more than an hour or two before quitting, but if I know I'm taking part in some rabid short-sighted a-hole's torment, I'm already having fun.

I can sorta understand the upset, many FF fans (who didn't play snes) only know FF as a playstation game and would feel unhappy about recieving a competitor's version.
Imagine (and I realise this would be very unlikely) a new Multiplatform mario game is being released. And then there's a prize of a copy of the game... with a ps3, nintendo fans would feel let down.

If you read the reviews they pretty much think that this iteration is pretty poorly done, so maybe they're just booing FFXIII, lol.

"Oh, right. Fanboys. Logic does not apply here."
That's pretty much about the size of it.

Probably doesn't help that the 360 version was cut and hobbled.

How dare these people have an opinion about consoles!

Likewise how dare they be passionate about a game they love potentially being stripped just to fit on a console whose main demographic doesn't play Final Fantasy Games.

I agree. Down with them!

Can't believe they'd be so idiotic. Final Fantasy's 7,8, and 11 are available on PC, there are FFs on the Wii, SNES, NES, Gamecube and DS... Final Fantasy has a HISTORY of being multi-platform. It's NEVER been a Sony exclusive.
It is true. They appear to have been shouting "Booooooofinalfantasyhasalwaysbeenasonyexclusivethatistheentirereasonthatweareboooooooooooooing."

Obviously I don't know the truth either, but I think that is the point.

I think they are angry because they thing porting the game to a weaker console left them with a broken product.

Had the game been ported up from PS2 to 360 I'm sure they'd be getting a boner.

Also "Yes it was planned for the PS2 but don't give me the shit that the end product would have EVER been near a PS2."

I just didn't get the logic behind it. I've always thought of my 360 as the FPS console. I haven't played FFXIII but I'm fairly sure there isn't a large FPS segment in the game.

But then again that's probably just me being a whiny little girl because they haven't made another Viva Pinata :(.

I wonder how this escapist article would have gone if the audience had just shouted in cheers and spun around so fast they all fainted. I just find it odd that we only accept the positive attitude as valid. When did people suddenly lose the right to be upset about something without being shown off as assholes.

Sure it isn't exactly important but when you are lucky enough to live a good life these kind of things are what you've got for conflict. I don't think people should knock this, their real goal should be to step up the lives of those much less fortunate so we can all have our fanboy moment.

Personally on the 14th I'm going to be picking up Pokemon when the doors open :). It's nice when you are 30 thousand dollars in debt to have something as simple as a video game make your day shiny (College if you were curious not that you are).

Eh... It'd be a bit like Halo going multi-platform. Yeah, the early history of the developer wasn't with Microsoft, but the two have become so linked that it's a bit like a betrayal of the original fans.

Remember all the people complaining about how CoD had forgotten the PC gaming grounds in which it had been planted, blossoming instead in the verdant console greens? It's kind of the same thing.

Imagine Mario going multi-platform.
Ok, I've heard this argument before, and it never makes any goddamned sense to me. More people playing games from Bungie means Bungie makes more money, can then make more games. This is good for fans, good for industry, even good for Madonna. I understand why manufacturers fight for games to be exclusive, but I don't see how them being cross platform is a betrayal to the fans, I really don't.

The 360 is my console of choice yes, but mostly because all Bioware games come out for it. When they made Dragon Age for PS3 also, should I have been mad? Again, makes no sense to me, it meant my friend Jonathon could play it also. Of my friends, most got it for the PC, me and one other on the 360, then Jon on the PS3. How would any of us have benefitted from it being only one platform?
