Most companies who fall into the console wars end up losing and alienating an entire audience. This can only be good news for Square-Enix.

Just wait what happens when Halo goes multi-platform.
Yeah but the thing is Halo will never go multi-platform, unless M$ are feeling generous and they sell the IP. When bungie seperated from them, M$ retained full control over the IP, Halo.

OT: Thank god they're losing another exclusive, it makes me happy when I see the PS or Xbox lose an exclusive.

Well, who couldn't see this one coming?(!)

Next thing we know they'll announce that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be PS3 exclusive. *wink wink nudge nudge*

There was a time when I'd buy a Final Fantasy game simply because it had the words Final Fantasy on the cover. If there's something good I can say about XIII, it is that is has taught me to be a little more cautious with my purchases.

PS. Actually, I didn't hate it that much. The story was pretty cool, I thought. Some of the characters were interesting (Lightning most certainly was not just a female version of Cloud, as I see a lot of other people attest to). The graphics were good, but in a FF game, that should be a given. The music was... passable. The combat was, um, okay to watch, I guess. Not much else. The game was okay, but a mere shadow of other installments in the series.
Ugh. I couldn't stand it. 20 hours is too long to be called a "slow start." I'm just thankful I rented it and didn't waste TOO much money.

Frankly, they didn't even get the graphics right. By my observation they were just barely above PS2 quality. The environments were garbage; I could model better ones, and that's saying a lot since I'm not really an environment artist. The combat system and especially the menus were horrible trash. The sad thing is that I could see where they had the pieces of a good story and good themes going, but it felt to me like an aborted fetus of a game rather than a full-fledged release. To me, FFXIII is as bad as Sonic 2006.

Wouldn't really surprise me considering the 360 sales made up for almost half of the total FFXIII sales.
Nah.

It's worldwide at about:
PS3: 4 million (1.9 million in Japan; 2.1 million EU/ NA)
360: 1.2 million

That's about 25% if you're keeping score. It's about 33% in territories outside of Japan though.
Well that's still a good bit of extra moneyz for squeenix.
Could have sworn hearing somehwere that 360 sales accounted for 48% in North america...

and you might just want to prepare yourselves for the worst.
My god... you... you mean...

A game will be fairly distributed over two consoles!?

I MUST BOYCOTT THIS SHIT!
This was the second comment I read today, and it made me wet myself. Thanks. :)

OT: What exactly is Final Fantasy Versus XIII?
The first Final Fantasy I've played is Final Fantasy XIII. In fact, I'm playing it now and loving it!

Omigosh look at post count! *EDIT* It was 1337 at the time of posting.

It's odd how well FF13 sold, considering every single person who boguht it says it's crap.

Regardless, I've had a change of heart. I've stopped caring about FF so this won't be on my bulletin list.
way to make bullshit up.

I bought it and I never said it was crap, it was actually a very good game with an excessively slow start. It's still my 3rd favorite RPG of this generation, after Fallout 3 and Resonance of Fate. Most of the people I know also liked it, even if they did consider it a step backwards from the previous games.
Easy there man. If you like it, then what I said could be considered an exaggeration, NOT made u[. What I was trying to get across was how I found so many people who disliked it.

Geez.
