Indeed, that's just a horrible excuse. And if it would take so much time, then why not put off development on 14, I'm sure people can wait to play that, especially if a remake of 7 was the reason for it.GamerMage said:(cough) bullcrap (cough)
thank you! Someone see's what I saw instantly.drisky said:Why would it take 4 times as long as XIII, is XIII going to be 1/4th the length of VII or something
That'd probably involve pulling people away from other projects, and since Versus 13 is already taking longer to make than the entire evolution of mankind, I don't think they'd be willing to do that.Visulth said:>_> Well, instead of quadrupling the development time, they could just quadruple the development team?
*Sigh*
Alas, maybe one day when we meet our robot overlords they might make it for us!
Obvious Kefka fan is obvious.john_alexander said:This? This here is right here is why I HATE HATE HATE the graphics race. Now, don't get me wrong, but I never really liked FFVII (but that's not important right now). However, it was a pretty long game, with a lot of stuff in it. So if trying to update the graphics would take three times as long as the current Final Fantasy to develop (and that's with the story already made [though they would probably re-write a lot of the dialog and record voice-overs]), does that mean FFXIII has a third the content? Seriously?Logan Westbrook said:-Snip-
According to Kitase a next-gen remake of Final Fantasy VII would simply take too long to make: "If we were to recreate Final Fantasy VII with the same level of graphical detail as you see in Final Fantasy XIII, we'd imagine that that would take as much as three or four times longer than the three and a half years it has taken to put this Final Fantasy together,"
I translate that as "Final Fantasy VII is 3 or 4 times the game XIII is."that would take as much as three or four times longer than the three and a half years it has taken to put this Final Fantasy together,"
Oh, this is just fucking retarded.Logan Westbrook said:"If we were to recreate Final Fantasy VII with the same level of graphical detail as you see in Final Fantasy XIII, we'd imagine that that would take as much as three or four times longer than the three and a half years it has taken to put this Final Fantasy together," Kitase explained, "so it's looking pretty unrealistic!"
After reading this article I realized that FFVII's planet was indeed a full SPHERE world with cities/dungeons doted alover the map though once the graphics increased so much when FFX was made it hasn't really been a WHOLE planet you explore so much as a wide range of locations with different climates, wildlife, and species. Not to mention all of the details you'd need to make for the one time events that occured like the Launch of the Rocket in Rocket Town The Golden Suacer's over night event, the roller coaster, Chocobo Circut, The Mako Cannon (both Versions) and the several stages of the Highwind to name a few .... Though if they could it'd be amazing but I can now grasp why it's not readily doable now.drisky said:Why would it take 4 times as long as XIII, is XIII going to be 1/4th the length of VII or something
