I tried playing FFX and I really disliked it but durn Square Enix, my curiosity is piqued.

I don't know whether to feel ashamed or not.

I really hope that there is an actual plot to tie all of these big emotional moments together. With any luck there will even be something subtle at some point. I'm not saying it looks bad, just that it honestly gives me no clue as to the quality of storytelling at work here. All of these scenes could be good, if we are given a reason to care about the characters first, but without context the effect borders on the comedic.

The music isn't terrible, but its also far from the best and it doesn't integrate well with what's happening in the video. It just feels kind of tacked on and vestigial.

I'm not getting too much emotion out of this, probably because it's so out of context. Perhaps I'm biased but the combination of FF aesthetics and claims toward emotional depth really remind me of that goth girl from highschool that wrote really trite poetry and tried to be deep but actually smelled kinda like cat pee and shopped at the mall. It's hard for me to take seriously. I'd much prefer a range of highs and lows... FF7 had Aeris' death and Cloud dressed in drag.

Everything since FFX for me has been a big "meh" experience, I don't see this game changing that.

I feel that the My Hands song works well with the trailer. It doesn't blend into the background like the Japanese one, instead the words reinforce the tone of the game to me.
