This looks a ton like Bioshock one which is awesome. Even if they don't bring much new to the table the first game was amazing enough for me to go out and buy the sequel even if its the same thing over again.

And having a drill for a hand seems freakin' ridiculously awesome.

Ehh... it seems alright. Just wish the Drill did more than just cause people to faint. Might be fun, I'll have to see.

This looks epic, if it is a 360 exclusive (It won't be hopefully) I might consider geting a 360 just for this.

looks pretty good but my only complaint is they dropped sea of dreams from the title.

Sea of Dreams was the title of the teaser trailer. They did consider including it in the title but decided against it

EDIT: huh the quote thing messed up

Fuck me that was awesome!

The gameplay looks the same with a few tweaks. Having both plasmids and weapons working at the same time will be great.

The drill looks awesome (I'm guessing this replaces the wrench) and the rivet gun looks good enough. Hopefully we won't be restricted to just rivet gun and drill, as that would be a huge let down.

Underwater missions also look like a lot of fun. Maybe this was just a one time thing but I could see it being a cool gameplay element. We've seen a Big Daddy walking under water before so it's certainly possible. However it didn't look like you could use weapons (I can understand it, animating powers underwater realistically would be near impossible to do) which is a little annoying. Maybe these will simple be plot devises (slowing you down so you can't get to a little sister in time) or maybe you have a certain amount of oxygen (worst case scenario).

Personally I'm starting to look forward to Bioshock 2. While the story was good Bioshocks main strength was the atmosphere. The setting of rapture combined with the true feeling of being a Big Daddy should be enough to make this game good. As good as the original? Only time will tell.

that's interesting. The viral site seems to suggest it would take place a few years after the first, but does anyone else think Tenembaum looks younger in that pic? Oh well, this will be a must-play, definitively.

I like the way that the player there had both a plasmid and a weapon out. Maybe it'll make me care about my plasmids more: in the first I found that I hardly used them except for instances created solely for their use. (Mass enemies in the water, freezing things to hack, etc)

Also, it looks like the long-ass reload time for your plasmids is gone too. Pretty much they seemed like a cool but impractical weapon in the first, now they look awesome.

So far, so good. Keep the atmosphere of the first game, ramp up the tension a bit, and this one will be a winner like its big daddy.

Looks very cool, I am guessing they are implementing the features they had for the first game in the under water areas. There were tons of cool sounding underwater related tonics they left out, I just hope Bioshock 2 is more FPS RPG, and not FPS RPG.

I hope the game is more System Shock like.

That was simply orgasmic. Can't wait. I'm particularly excited about the underwater stuff, some real potential there, I think. And fighting a bunch of splicers looks ridiculously fun.

Hm the trailer is telling me that you wil be able to be a true blue Big Daddy (alot of people were misled by the original Bioshock's cover, thinking that you were in that one). And the new weapons and different make it look even better. But they must be the earlier versions of Big Daddies.

EDIT: And you get to fight Big Sisters too.
According to Game Informer, not just an earlier Big Daddy: the first Big Daddy, "made" before the ability to use plasmids was engineered out of them, no longer a slave to the little sisters, able to choose his own destiny. Awesome.

Coooooooooooooooll.

If it's released on PS3, I look forward to it!
It is going to be, well at least according to game informer.

This game looks so great, I cannot wait to fight the big sister. Also, anyone else wondering what they will have you do after that room is flooded?

Was that like, a Jumping Big Daddy splicer? Because that was awesome. And the new gameplay looks great.

It's a shame Bioshock 2 won't be coming out till the 31st of December 2009. But it would be interesting to know what Rapture was like in its glory days.
Well mabye but if there is big sisters, which are little sisters that grew up its not a prequel but a sequel to the story. (also sweet avatar)
I'm thinking either, that they're little sisters built to defend themselves (but bigger, and rivaling the big daddies) or just anternate guardians for the little sisters (still rivaling the Big Daddies)

That, my friend, was the Big Sister. I'll explain more later in the post.

According to Game Informer, the Big Sister was a Little Sister who grew up and came back to Rapture (which was in ruins, by the way)10 years after the first game with a bunch of kidnapped girls from the surface to make Little Sisters from. Basically, she's nuts about the Status Quo in Rapture, and if you upset it, usually by killing Big Daddies, she comes after you. Your warning is the Little Sister singing like you hear at the end of the trailer.
