The Hobbit Trailer came out last December, a whole year before it was to be released.MrGalactus said:P.S. Has a trailer for a movie ever come out this early before the release?
What deleted scene are you referring to? I haven't seen Avengers since it was in theaters...SirBryghtside said:Between this and the Avengers deleted scenes with Cap... this batch is looking to be a lot darker than the first set. Colour me interested.
Those scenes address a lot of the issues I had with Cap's arc in the Avengers. I wish they'd have left them in the final cutSirBryghtside said:There's some deleted scenes where Cap looks over the people from movie one, all marked 'Deceased':Fappy said:What deleted scene are you referring to? ...which are apparently going to turn up in Cap 2.
I agree. Iron Man has been at the core of some of the darkest moments in Marvel history and has great stories of bouncing back from rock bottom. Some amount of grit and melodrama could make this movie the best in the trilogy if they can adequately balance what made the first two great.Mr. Omega said:I have been glad that the Avengers movies have been taking a light tone in a genre that at its time had been dominated by grittiness, but that doesn't mean grittiness doesn't have a place. Yes, I don't think things should get too mopey or melodramatic, but I've always been one to think that dark moments in a light series tend to be the most effective kinds of dark moments. When it's nothing but misery misery misery all the time, slightly more misery isn't as impactful. There must be hope in order for there to be true despair. There's plenty of room for error, but as long as they don't lose sight of what made Phase 1 exciting and enjoyable, I'm willing to give slightly darker stories a shot.
I'm looking forward to the Mandarin, not just because of Kingsley, but because villains have been the weakest points of the last two movies. Most of Stark's conflict in the first two movies have been internal while external forces made things worse. So far Tony Stark has managed to face three major threats (Stane, Vanko and the Chitauri) while smirking and making jokes the whole time. It'll be nice to see Marvel throw Iron Man a villain who can actually match up against him.
Now all I need to see is one of those 10 rings in action...
Technically the Mandarin's rings are alien-tech. Shouldn't be too hard to explain considering Thor is in the same universe and Asgardian magic is just described as alien-tech.Hero in a half shell said:Wow. I'm interested to see just how they will play out the Mandarin's character since he is supposed to be magical, and the Iron Man movies have been the most realistic and grounded superhero movies so far.
Also this looks SO AWESOME! I can't wait.
no whats most likly happening is that the Mandarin is controling the armor with one of his rings and using it to try and end Tony.MrGalactus said:All it's glory!
I think it's looking really good! War Machine's not-iron-patriot armour is far less ugly than it looked before, the extremis suit looks badass, and Tony Stark looks like he's going through genuine character development. Maybe they'll introduce the whole alcoholic crisis thing Stark had in the comics. Also, I'm excited to see The Mandarin, because they're clearly paying a lot of attention to the character with the "no such thing as heroes" and the thinking he's the demonised "good guy", and whoever is playing him seems pretty perfect so far.
What're your thoughts on the trailer?
P.S. Has a trailer for a movie ever come out this early before the release?
EDIT: Also, did you notice that thing at 37 seconds? Maybe they're doing that really fucking weird storyline when the Iron Man became sentient and took Tony hostage because it loved him. They should do that. Complete with a robot-on-dude steamy rape scene? I think so.
He is most likely infected with Extremis in the scene you mentioned if I had to guess. It allowed him to remotely control tech in the comics. Not sure how OP it will be in the movie.ZeoAssassin said:-Snip-
I think you may be getting his and Iron Fist's origins confused. Mandarin found the rings in a crashed space ship with a dead alien in it. I think it was later retconned that he murdered the alien in the ship and took the rings.Froggy Slayer said:While I am INCREDIBLY happy to see Ben Kingsley as Mandarin (especially with that epic beard), how are they going to be able to introduce the magic rings? Didn't he get them from an alien dragon in the comics?
We are both right. He found the rings in a crashed spaceship with an alien in. Said alien was also a dragon; same species as Fin Fang Foom.Fappy said:I think you may be getting his and Iron Fist's origins confused.
