Im really sick of people shooting their standards up so high that nothing impresses them.

my reaction? well.....

Holy shit, what is this?
Forged in God's very flames.

Do mine eyes tell me lies,
A new Elder Scrolls Game?

Time is nigh, I must fly,
Venture forth on my quest.

Goodbye Ma, goodbye Pa
And goodbye Girlfriend's breasts.

I'll be off Azeroth, catch you later Hyrule.
I'll be gone Albion, I'm no longer your fool.

Other crap filled the gap
While I waited to begin...

The adventure of my life
in the land of Skyrim!

Ps to other people, I hear that they got a shit load of GOOD voice actors to do NPCs, They also are fixing the leveling system to be more like the fallout games. they are taking the things wrong with the previous games seriously.

If i was only allowed to have 1 game for the next 5 years, I would with out a doubt choose this game, even if it tuns out 1/100 of as good as it looks.
I think people have a right to be skeptics. A lot of game trailers turn out to be just cinematics and have nothing to do with actual gameplay (like, for instance, the trailer for Oblivion).

But lucky for us this one shows plenty of gameplay.

Ditching that stillborn gamebryo engine came years too late, but at least they finally replaced it... and with something from id, too.

It's like they're apologizing for all those years of their engine being a griefer.
The engine isn't from id, that's what Bethesda said in the magazine. Herp. Excuse me.

Indeed, *over interwebs fistbump*. Look skeptics ther's no use arguing, this is what would happen if all the combined awesomest forces in the universe decided it was time to make an awesome game, there's no use arguing, you will be overpowered. If you just listen to the narrator he's actually describing the return of the sries, ahem "No one wanted to believe they even existed". That no one is you, Skyrim is, well, everything good. PS I want to be on that choir so bad!

I know it's so cool, like I'm getting it for the xbox because my pc wouldn't not die, but, imagine! Imagine this game on a fully beefed up PC!

Good news it does! Bethesda has already released info on the newly dubbed "creation kit" for the "creation engine", see how that works out? You do, it works GLORIOUSLY!

Hmm. I could hear that word of Dragonborn repeated at least twice in the trailer. Anyone bothered to actually listen if the text has some meaning, either faux-latin or obscure Tamriel languages?
This video has part of the lyrics. Most of the remaining lyrics are in the description on YouTube.

Yeah actually they created an entire language "dragonic" it's fully translatable. Pretty coolio.

Soule is doing the music again, thank god. The man's a master at making things even more epic. :] This looks very good - can't wait.

It looks great, it looks awesome, but that helmet, that looks THE shit.
Fixed...

I dunno, I just love barbarian/viking-esque armour.
Ha. ;)

Vikings didn't have horns in their helmets. It leaves so much of the head unprotected (jaw, neck), it has no padding or chain. Structurally speaking it looks like a weak, rough sort of light helmet. There are many types of bascinet, morion or gothic helms that look a lot better, and would do the job a lot finer (bearing in mind you are trying to protect against dragon bite).

But we are not entirely in disagreement, I do like barbarian themed armour when it looks imposing, composite and unique.

Or burgonets! (throw in a search of those)

HEY GUISE HASNT ANYONE NOTICED THAT THEIR COLOUR PALETTE CONSISTS OF BROWN,GREY AND GREEN? AGAIN.

Seriously bethseda l2art.
I agree that Morrowing and especially Oblivion where lacking in the concept art and art direction department, but this looks pretty good so far. The nordic focus, full of runes and inscriptions, as well as the environments and all the like look good to me. I mean I'm not blown away, but it's a vast improvement over Oblivion. The yellow-red forest alone is already better than anything Oblivion achieved in terms of scenery.
Morrowind had good art direction. More colour than oblivion, but also alot of strange and otherwordly things, and a nice handcrafted world giving it some sort of soul.
I don't see the issue with the colour palette in this game. It seems as though each region will have its own distinct flavour. Morrowind was an Oddity and not something that encompasses Elder Scrolls. The world of Tamriel isn't some alien place and if I was to be frank, I'd say Morrowind sticks out like a sore thumb. As for a colourful work of art as you seem to think it is, you may have forgotten that most the land of morrowind is a charred wasteland. Oblivion had a hugely varied colour palette to the point of obscenity. It seems skyrim is toning back the colour palette as it was far too cartoon like in Oblivion.
Agreed, anyways, Skyrim is supposed to be rugged and currently in discord so...

The only thing that really caught my attention were the stealth kills. Other than that nothing really amazing. I really want to be able to join the "bad" guys in this one and not have such a linear story that is repetitive.

I just cannot make sense of the graphics comments here (both those extolling them and those griping). What does it matter? Oblivion looked nicer than Morrowind from a purely technical perspective, but Morrowind's setting was more compelling and the game (far) more interesting. Fallout 3's graphics cannot even be reasonably compared to those in Fallout 1 & 2, yet those older games are superior on just about every other count that matters.

Perhaps I've been spending too much time (and money) at Good Old Games, but arguments about how shiny (literally and not Firefly metaphorically) a game is just seem beside the point. Sure this trailer is pretty and Skyrim does seem promising, but I couldn't give a dire rat's ass less whether the graphics are cutting-edge or "so 2002".
Wow, 4 pages before a lick of sense comes in. I will say this, I LOVED the music, and a lot of what was shown displays a very competent hack-n-slash RPG, but is it Elderscrolls? Aside from the music, I'm going to say probably not.

Pants... have been pooped.

November 11 is Remembrance Day here in Canada... that means no school. Yet another reason to be thankful for the people who fought in the wars.

I know how *that* day will be spent.
