Being fit is important. You shouldn't be too skinny or too overweight, because those lead to serious health problems (diabetes, anemia, etc). Obesity is a problem because you then have a lot of people clogging up the health care system and spending taxpayers dollars on social security for their "disability". I'm fit, and I'm trying to get back into track shape. Also, you probably shouldn't believe everything a magazine tells you.

I'm skinny... but like... unfit skinny... it's a weird combination... I have more fat than I normally would, but because I was so skinny to begin with, I look about average now... I've started working out though, so Hopefully I build some muscle and be able to run for more than 20 minutes straight without having to stop.

A good generalisation that could be used on this subject, at least for guys, is rugby players. They're never skinny, they're goddamn huge, but they're also very healthy and will be at a very good level of physical fitness. People put too much stock in how big you look rather than how physically capable you are.

I'd much prefer to be big and healthy than skinny and unhealthy. =]

Well I'm quite skinny, but I'm not overly fit (with fitness being the ability to meet the demands of the environment) I am fit but nothing out of the ordinary.

In regards to health (physical, social and mental well being) If your fat you are more likely to suffer from coronary heart disease, liver failure and other similar diseases. In terms of social health weight doesn't matter I have fat and thin friends. And mentally fatness can lead to a self-loathing in the body which in turn can become depression, and a fear of food can lead to anorexia.
