Really not what I was expecting to see on the Escapist, but it seems like an interesting series. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

For some reason I always get frustrated when hearing "don't explain the trick. It's a secret!"

Maybe I have some repressed childhood memories concerning the "I know something you don't know" taunt, but whenever I hear it, it just makes me upset.

I, for one, would like to know how the tricks are done. Knowing how it's done makes the trick "less magical" like knowing science makes the world "less amazing".

Delighting in the method is something that not a lot of people can do (most of the time, people find the method quite disappointing, and it ruins the trick for them). If you can actually do this, you might find that magic is a rewarding hobby to get into...and if you want to, just PM me and I'll see what I can do about pointing you towards where to get started.
