This game hasn't been done since may of 2009, if the search bar is to be believed, so I think I'm safe. (Original by VoltySquirrel)
So it works like this, someone starts a sentence, and then the next person continues the story with "unfortunately..." and proceeds to say how the situation became unfortunate, the next person says "fortunately.." changing the situation to be a fortunate one.
Let me give an example,
A man walks into a convenience store,
unfortunately, it was being robbed,
fortunately, the criminals were polite and understanding and didnt hurt him.
The story can continue until someone ends the sentence, and begins another one.
Allow me to start.
A man was speeding down the highway.

Fortunately, said needles not only made the man immune to AIDS through genetic mutation, allowing his DNA to be used to cure HIV in general, but they also gave him superpowers.

Fortunatly Chuck Norris just beat the shit out of all the other Chuck Norris robbers. There can only be one Chuck Norris.
New sentence:
Avatar has been over hyped.

unfortunately, I cannot make any negative comment about Avatar, because that movie was the best thing I've seen since the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Fortunately, I can make negative comments abut Avatar, because I couldn't care less about special effects.
