So it works like this, someone starts a sentence, and then the next person continues the story with "unfortunately..." and proceeds to say how the situation became unfortunate, the next person says "fortunately.." changing the situation to be a fortunate one.
Let me give an example,
A man walks into a convenience store,
unfortunately, it was being robbed,
fortunately, the criminals were polite and understanding and didnt hurt him.
The story can continue until someone ends the sentence, and begins another one.
Allow me to start.
A man was speeding down the highway.

Unfortunately the haystack was full of HIV positive needles

Fortunately, said needles not only made the man immune to AIDS through genetic mutation, allowing his DNA to be used to cure HIV in general, but they also gave him superpowers.
