It should be noted that the French restrictions basically make it impossible to interact in society at large without a vaccination while there are still major issues with vaccine distribution. In short, Macron gonna Macron.

Having that neoliberal billionaire bootlicker Macron as a head of state, I can understand why they would want to protest.

No, the joke is that you thought you were criticising the left wingers here by referring to, I guess, Marx, but you actually described Trump (without all the sexual harassment stuff) but are, for reasons known, unable to see that's what you've done.
I'm not criticizing the left wingers, I'm criticizing the literal self described socialists and communists. I was under the impression the socialists on these forums hate the left wingers anyway because they see them as not that different from the right wingers. Point me towards someone here on this forum that looks to Trump for economic strategies cause I certainly can't think of any. Your attempt to be clever is just nonsensical.

Macron may be a slick hypocrite in many instances but in this case he did what was reasonable.

Back to the topic, the amount of protesters means nothing when the majority of French actually approve the decision.

Then you're confused, because socialists are left-wing. I am a left-wing socialist. There are degrees of wingedness. You, for example, are clearly right-wing, but I wouldn't suggest you're, like, Zontar was or anything. Maybe a bit, but not that much.

I often dislike centrists, because centrists these days lean to the right but don't admit that, and are pretty much useless for anything.

Oh, I'm sure there's been at least a few - remember, actual numbers aren't important to you. The joke obviously worked because enough people understood the reference.

"Centrists" can represent at least two general things. Firstly, people with ideological beliefs that are middle of the spectrum. Secondly, people without much ideological conviction but who have a mindset that the middle path between two opposing views is reasonable. The latter, obviously, shift with the general trends in political thought. As the right wing has moved further right, they have consequently shuffled that way too.

And of the first category, some of these people may not be so much "middle" on many issues, but a complex mix of potentially very right-wing and very left-wing ideas.

Most centrists seem to me to be people who aren't generally politically engaged -- it's less that their views are middle-of-the-road, and more that they're not there at all, or if there, they aren't particularly strongly held. A little too don't-rock-the-boat, and easily swayed (which, given who holds the tools to present the news and views of the world, is not great, IMO).

Does it really matter?

You can have enough doses to vaccinate your population fifty times over. But it does fuck all unless people get them.

France has been one of the most vaccine skeptical nations on Earth, so the biggest issue with France's vaccine distribution is the French themselves.

I really don't care about whether it's 2 hundred thousand or a million and have no real investment with this anyway, so I don't know why you're acting like this is a "gotcha". Saw news about this, saw a video of people marching down a street that looked like a shit ton of people and thought people here would be interested in it, but Twitter is dumb and links parent posts even when I just want one of the child posts. If the number isn't a million then ok, thanks for clarifying. People here can say it's stupid what they're doing or that it proves the "governments of the world are working together to start a new world order!" or whatever, that's up to you.
Sorry, forgot I posted here, was hoping the heavy drinking should've killed me off entirely by now instead of just this short-term memory loss, but the intent behind my query was sincere as opposed to accusatory, as these conspiracy theories are no longer confined to a single political side, in fact most ppl I know in the UK believing them are more on the "hippy" side of the spectrum it now seems. And I hadn't seen anything from yourself here before to imply any similar convictions, so I was genuinely curious. I may have failed to communicate across the tone, much apologies if so. This particular problem is not, and shouldn't be a left or right issue, so I don't think it's helpful to push it into a left/right argument of which it appears you may have thought I was doing there. There are people who are wanting it to be, but that isn't the reality I'm seeing in my own country. Am not wanting to contribute to the hostilities already being encouraged by certain bad faith actors in any way, bridges still need to be maintained. Have a good day if you can!

I'm typically not big on conspiracy theories of the type that are large and involve multiple governments. Most of the theories just require too much coordination, subterfuge and single mindedness to work in reality.

The only conspiracy theories I engage in are the kind like, what if massive sea monsters did exist but don't anymore because of human encroachment and environmental change? Things of the cryptid variety or theories of how the world was before written history. But even in those cases they're just occasional hobbies for me that I don't put much stock into.

I'm sorry for getting snipy.

It’s definitely this unquantifiable issue and not Macron fucking up as usual. If only us mortals could live up to his pristine ideals of efficiency.

I dunno what exactly you mean about this being an approach to consuming news, but it's better than basing ones world view on economics on a bum that never learned about the subject, could never manage his own finances, and never worked a day in his life but about half the users on this forum do that.
Yeah, Marx kicked ass.

It's no problem, tone is difficult to read online even at the best of times, and I don't really help matters with always trying to be jovial but dry with humour in often nonsensical ways.
Cryptids are a curious area, do you know of Mudfossil University? It's cryptid adjacent, and probably one of the more harmless conspiracy circles where this guy looks for rocks shaped like giants and believes they are literal fossils of past creatures, seems to always be uploading videos too (he makes sure to regularly hammer home that he is correct and every other professional is wrong, without fail every video);
