Today, for you:

Control

Control will be free at Epic Games Store until June 17th at 5PM (your local time). As always, you can get the game through the link above, or straight from the Epic Games launcher. Either way, the game will be added directly to your Epic Games library. Keep in mind having 2FA active on your account is mandatory to nab giveaways on the Epic Games Store.
After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, you become the new Director struggling to regain Control.

From developer Remedy Entertainment, this supernatural 3rd person action-adventure will challenge you to master the combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through a deep and unpredictable world.

Control is Jesse Faden’s story and her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way. Jesse works with other Bureau agents and discovers strange experiments and secrets.
Have a look if interested, and enjoy.

Also, inb4 someone should point it out: yes, I know Genshin Impact is also free, but that is and has always been free 2 play. Doesn't count as a freebie in my book.

Next week's freebies at the Epic Game Store will be Hell is Other Demons & Overcooked! 2 starting June 17th.

Well, that is another game from my Steam wishlist that I can take off.

That is a rather high profile to just give away. Anyway, nabbed it.

I ended up getting this on sale on Steam, and I don't really regret it, though I haven't gotten around to finishing the game. Basically it's "Alan Wake's Sister's Adventures in the SCP Foundation"; the gameplay has a little Souls-like flavoring to it, and it walks just the right line between seriousness and self-parody, though I can't say I'm a huge fan of many of the skills one acquires or how combat sometimes plays out (though the actual shooting and movement are remarkably crisp).

Yeah pretty big deal right there, worth grabbing if you've never done it.

While I liked the game quite a lot I couldn't help but feel like this was one of the least interesting story you could have told in that world. I loved the bureau side of it and the mix between bored bureacracy and Chuhulhu horror, but I couldn't care less about the main character/her brother and the main antagonist just felt like it was getting in the way of me learning more about the bureau. Gameplay had good idea but enemy were too bullet spongy, constantly respawn around you and there was a bit too much back and forth.
