I have DS1 and DS2. DS1 I thought was alright in a "Grimdark Legend of Zelda" sense, but DS2 just wore me out. It just plain overstays its welcome at every step of the journey after you first meet Crowfather. This is partially attributable to the fact that Death seems more designed as a snark repository rather than a developing character (and consequentially character interactions tend to follow a relatively consistent pattern regardless of who the other character is), but I think the heart of it is that it feels like the game is stalling. War's path was pretty well defined from the start: Find the parties responsible for the apocalypse and slaughter them. Can't reach them? Kill their lieutenants, strengthen your allies, breach the stronghold, beat your foe.

Death's however? His objective is very nebulous (clear War's name), and he has no idea how to achieve it, just the vague idea that clearing up the messes he finds in his path will somehow help his ultimate objective. He doesn't even have a figurative compass in that until most of the way through the Land of the Dead, and it's completely unrelated to the game's antagonist. It felt like the plot was spinning its wheels in the mud the whole time.

Here's one of the reasons I'm not particularly enthused with the Epic Game Store: This morning I snagged all three games; Epic sent me a receipt for each. The first two (DS2 and Steep) came about five minutes after the "order".

The third one (DS1) came thirteen hours later.

Is there anything they can't mess up?

First world problems at their finest. Ultra first world problems even as you probably could access the games immediately after purchase, you just didn't get a receipt immediately after.

I once did a password reset request with a service and I had to wait ten minutes for the email, outrageous!

And not just any receipt, but a receipt for literally zero money, lol.

I have Epic blocked in my spam filter. I got sick of all the $0 receipts from them, it'd basically turned into spam.

I'd do it too, but then I'd miss out on all the notification mails telling me some dude in Brazil tried to log into my account.

Seriously, happens at least once a month. Always from Brazil. I mean, why? There's nothing worth taking on there.
