Yeah, that's definitely the mark of the Outsider in the wrapping. I'm going to be terribly amused if it turns out to be Dishonored 2, considering that it's also a 'freebie' with GoG (by way of Twitch Prime code) right now.

Anyways, thanks for the heads up. Mortal Shell's one of those games that caught my attention when I saw the trailer. Combat looked like it was a bit faster and more engaged than Dark Souls, but maybe not quite as mobile as Bloodborne, so this is a nice pickup.

If I had a nickel for every freebie I grabbed and never played, I'd ... well ... actually only have like 10 bucks, but you get the point.

Any idea what the difference is between it and the tech beta that comes with it?

Experience with other games suggests that it's just the build they use for soft-rollout hotfixes. Basically, you'll get the most up-to-date build there, but the build may or may not have gone through quality assurance yet. Ie, you're basically helping them beta-test their patches before they replace the game's official build. That said, considering that the game was released in 2020 and the last patch I see is from August 2021, that's probably an academic point now.

Free is about the tolerable price point for me regarding Soulslikes, so I guess I'll nab it.
