Today, for you:

Mothergunship & Train Sim World 2

Mothergunship & Train Sim World 2 will be free at Epic Games Store until August 5th at 5PM (your local time). As always, you can get the game through the link above, or straight from the Epic Games launcher. Either way, the game will be added directly to your Epic Games library. Keep in mind having 2FA active on your account is mandatory to nab giveaways on the Epic Games Store.
MOTHERGUNSHIP is a bullet-hell FPS where you craft your own guns, fight huge bosses, and defeat a robotic alien armada that conquered Earth. Face off against overwhelming odds in brutal, non-stop combats where thinking on your feet is the only way to survive.
The evolution of train simulation! Master iconic locomotives on high-speed services, long freight hauls or precise commuter traffic, and get creative with customisation tools in this advanced sequel. Climb into the cab in Train Sim World 2.
Have a look if interested, and enjoy.

Next week's freebie(s) at the Epic Game Store will be A Plague Tale: Innocence & Speed Brawl starting August 5th.

I've never played a train simulator so free is a good price to go in at.
Yeah, I’m wondering how much there can be to something that goes forward or backward on two tracks, but imagine there is still somehow an instrument panel that puts a car dashboard to shame.

I used to know a guy who applied to work as a train driver (and got the job). Ran into him a couple years later. Told me it's actually a pretty demanding job. Physically tough, as shift work tends to be. Mentally tough, cuz there are tons of regulations and procedures to follow, huge amounts of training (6 months worth before they even let him drive one). There's also little margin for error. You also need to be the kind of person able to perform monotonous tasks for hours on end without zoning out, cuz if not, disaster can strike and people will die.

Oh, and emotionally tough, since you never get used to seeing your train hit a body, and the chance of that happening is pretty much 100% if you work the job long enough.

Oh. Well then, it should be interesting to see how well the game conveys those elements…!

Mothergunship, it turns out, is brilliant. Putting together a ridiculous multi barrel rapid fire weapon with stacked pushback penalties that hurls you around the games arenas is great fun.
