Hey so, I vaguely recall an old roommate of mine referencing something that I'm not sure if it's actually a comic, or just an idea he had.
But it was basically the idea that, I'm assuming in an Elseworld/What If style comic, the concept of Spiderman became so popular and accepted, that they were able to replicate the process, and basically franchised it. So there were tons of Spider people, assigned to protect different areas, thus the Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman name, as an organization.
Did they actually publish this at some point? I remember him saying that they had all kinds of different spiders used, so you had like trapdoor spiders, so more ambush style heroes, and similar.
