You know what? I'd rather see kids sucked into video games. You know why? It's a hell of a lot better than seeing them dabble in drugs, alcohol and gangs. It may be vice for some, but it sure is safe when compared to the other evils.

In fact, let's see what results from each evil:
Drugs = internal damage, mentally and physically; may result in prison sentence or death.
Alcohol = internal damage, mentally and physically; may result in prison sentence or death.
Gangs = may result in prison sentence or death; may be salvageable, but results in convicted felon status.
Video Games = damage to social and mental functions; may be salvageable, if parents have common sense.

I love how she thinks everyone agrees with her by presenting several unsupported assertions about video game addiction being recognized by, if I were to believe her, almost every sane person as a mental illness. Changing reality to fit your opinions is awesome, isn't it? Also, her linking those teacher's comments to her reason for this so-called lack of knowledge amongst the youth is just a sad, mean trick- it makes it seem like those teacher's agree with her, when in fact, nothing is said about their opinions on video games. I would spend time coming up with a counterargument for this, but thankfully Cracked [http://www.cracked.com/article_16920_2008-year-geeks-took-over.html] already did it for me. 1) Good for you on the scholarships; I hope to be in your place in 2 years
2) The person who knows that they are being buried alive by that statement and is trying to salvage what she has by saying, "JK LOL"
3) I think I understand another channel that this bling swing is coming from. Its all a matter of perspective. If you didn't know a hint of math,like,at all and someone came and told you 2+2=5 and walked away, most people(being uneducated and open to the first thing they are told) locks it in as truth. So, no matter how many times and how many different ways we say, "2+2=4 you dumb ****" There will always be that subliminal "that guy said it was 5 though... in the back of her dumb stupid(most likely virgin) head.

I love how she quotes the opinions of people who know nothing about the affects of gaming on the human brain as if they were expert opinions.

Even if it were scientifically proven that games were 100% harmful to the human body, so what? So is beer. And cigarettes. And having a bunch of sex with strangers. And all three of those things are completely legal. And let's not EVEN get into the food industry. I could see how somebody could say, "well, we don't let kids drink" in the event games were proven harmful to humans (they haven't been, but let's pretend), but there's no excusing giving your kids McDonald's and then saying you won't let them play games because it's "bad for them."

I agree TV sucks, but I don't mean it quite the way she does.
