Rofl. My first very reasonable reply got 'moderated' even though I didn't use a single profanity, and was civil the entire time. I was unable to save it. But my second response (which I'm sure will get nuked too) reads as follows:

All I have to say is: will you decline the bonus you get for all the attention you have generated for your site, because of your distaste for the subject matter??? Somehow, I think not.
So, what is the lesson we learn from you, Marla Jo? Is it tolerance? Is it to think for yourself? Is it a plea for people to be cautious about video game addiction, or the effects that introversion (encouraged/supported by video games) might have upon an otherwise healthy child? Is it a warning to monitor the time your child spends in front of the TV (regardless of whether or not the experience is interactive)?
No? your message is ?Video Games are Evil?, and ?control your children, instead of teaching them to make good choices? which is eerily reminiscent of the Inquisition, or Nazism. Your followup comments smack of the McCarthy era, where ?if you do not agree, you must be the bad guy?. While I would never criticize how you raise your children, I must say that I will not give you any sort of credit for ?shielding? them, because from what I can tell, all you are doing is teaching them to accept a narrow range of values that are pushed upon them by others, rather than analyzing the situation for themselves and coming to their own conclusion.
Honestly? I think you are at best just another overprotective mother who is unwilling to invest the effort to actually understand what you are dealing with, and at worst a woman who has found that an unpopular position can garner her a lot of attention (even if it is unfriendly), and are now glorying in it.
Personally, I intend to present what you say as a textbook case of ignorance, intolerance, self-righteousness and egotism to my child. It will make for a good modern-day example.

This was to the "my kids have sad, pathetic lives" blog post, under my Nom De Guerre. Let's see if it actually makes it past their editors.
