anyway, I'm used to this shit, I got it all the time(I lived in the bible belt(the place were Christianity in America was pretty much popularized(yes, I know what I just did with the um.. ->() yes that thing))) and I was tolled that everything from video games to children's card games where made, sold, and distributed by the devil and the devil-keteers(think the musketeers, but the devil's). and my parents owned a toy shop, that was a fun few years.

Isn't it odd how most of the dumbasses I know play little to no video games? Yet most of the people who actually think deeply are people who game A LOT, such as me and a couple of my friends. I say if Newton had a DS, he'd have invented time travel.

I'm just going to post my response to her article, as I think it expresses my feelings the best:

Rather than insult the people who argue with you, how about making a decent argument? All you do is gain more flames from assuming that we don't know who Einstein is.

Anyway, excessive gaming isn't healthy. Gaming for 50+ hours a week is excessive if you ask me, and that might even be going high. However, saying that gaming AT ALL is unhealthy simply isn't true. Gaming isn't all bad, while I agree that gaming isn't really all that educational, it helps with motor skills. Playing puzzle games like Professor Layton actually helped my lateral thinking a lot. I game all the time, and I have good grades in classes such as Computer Programming, which require Critical Thinking in order to be successful.

Also, you used two very extreme examples to help your arguments. That's like me saying that the world's seas are going to flood everywhere right NOW because there are floods in a few places around the world. You have to look at the whole picture, not just a few pieces.

By the way, just a few final notes:
1) You said that the kid whose party your son went to was anti-social because of gaming. Well, where did all of the kids come from that were at the party then?

2) Video games =/= crack. Sorry, it's just a horrible comparison.

3) Congratulations, your brother is a software developer and he never played video games. You do realize that software doesn't have to necessarily be video games right? Microsoft Word is software.

This couldn't possibly be bad parenting? Society as a whole has changed, and video games are by far the only thing that has changed. Unless you can single out gaming as the only cause in some sort of neutral research, then that statement is invalid.

Wow... nevermind. I thought she had a shred of... open mindedness but I guess I was wrong. I no longer care. I think she is now milking this to get more hits on her blog. Everyone needs to stop paying attention to this woman now. If this keeps going she may actually become popular and start having a voice.

I agree with ignoring her, for sure. I would love to kick her; I fail to see how people can be so insanely closed-minded, I really really do. Unfortunately, she's probably going to continue to get hate mail.
