It's about damn time, thing came out a year ago and its been months since the CrunchyMation deal.

Now the waiting game for ReZero, Konosuba and Nyanko Days begins

They're the resurrected embodiments of the spirit of ships from the war (though that begs questions for Iowa given she's still afloat) instead of genderbent ace pilots, their enemy is from the deep instead of alien in nature, and there's well over 100 of them instead of a dozen (well, two dozen) but overall yeah it's pretty much SW but at sea.

To round things off we need an adaptation of Thunder Witches, the land based equivalent from the creator of Strike Witches. But it's so niche that I don't think any english website is even aware of it (I only am because I met the guy at a panel at last years Anime North and it was one of the things they where giving away to those present)

Actually they're fighting monstrous ship counterparts from the depths.

And unfortunately Hood hasn't been made a character yet. Bismarck is though.

Yeah she's there. Though to be fair most of the ships are Japanese for obvious reason.

Also the characters refer to Yamato as a Hotel a few times.

Not a fan of dubs (usually they mean English dubs when they say dubs and to me both English and Jp are foreign languages that I speak ) but Kancole is great. Amatsukaze ftw!

I was under the impression Sentai had licenced the series, though knowing them it's a coin flip as to whether they'll give it a dub or not.

Though at the least the remake by Production I.G. is likely to get a dub. Here's hoping it's good.

I think that's all of them. They've been gradually phasing in a lot more over the past year or two. I don't think any are in the anime, but it wouldn't surprise me to see some of the older ones (primarily Z1, Z3, Bismarck and/or Prinz, maybe U-511) in the new film. None are in the series from what I remember (to be fair the series predates like half of these ships even being released anyway).

Kancolle didn't make for a bad anime to be honest. Its not amazing but its pretty decent. You get more out of it if you play the game though.

*ahem* anyway, one main question - are these girls regular anime-sized or are they ship-sized? Just saying, if they're going to be going to war against something motherfuckers better be on the kaiju scale of size if they're wanting those torpedoes and cannons to do anything. Also because having a swarm of kaiju-sized anime girls sailing about is infinitely more entertaining than a bunch of Standard Size Anime Girls doing it.

Anyways I've heard of this game but never got to play it.

If you want to play the browser that started it all, it's quite difficult since you need a Japanese proxy.

It's weird though, the company has no problem with foreigners playing the game, they just need to go through all the god damn hoops. Just get the PS4 or Vita version if you're interested, though it'll cost you a pretty penny.

are these girls regular anime-sized or are they ship-sized?

They're kind of normal sized. By kind of it really depends on the class. Patrol boats and light escorts are basically lolis while battleships and heavy carriers are amazons, with everyone else falling somewhere in between.
