Nope, people pointed out to him that he apparently completely missed the point of Don Quixote, to which he replied, and I quote:

He then made a follow-up cartoon.
A gross misnomer of course, since it implies people aren't still laughing at him.

I also love how he labels everything. Like, is that just to troll, or does he think everyone so stupid (or himself so smart) that he needs to spell everything out?
Conservative comedy at its finest.

If you want anti-woke hilariocities, I'd suggest Ben Garrison, but that'd inundate the thread. However, how could I deprive you of this rare moment of unintentional introspection:

Also, just noticed this, but is he wearing a confederate uniform?
I like the way he draws Trump as this muscle bound crusader for justice in so many of his cartoons.

I guess he missed out the bone spurs on these displays of martial prowess.

Conservatives greatly value (physical) strength, which is why they need to imagine it when it comes to Trump.

Hopefully he's not quite as poisonous as Stonetoss, that Houseman seemed to like so much.
There's someone here who likes STONE TOSS?! Unironically?

Anyway, it's not surprising that the vocally anti-woke brigade ended up as insufferable and lacking in self awareness as wokescolds, but what did surprise me is how fast they joined them in the sludge.

A New York real estate hustler who got out of serving in the military on account of a bone spur acting like a man's man tough guy is sad. The fact so many conservatives bought into that image is straight depressing.

I don't blame him. Movie adaptations have completely missed the point of Don Quixote in the first place.

Movie Don Quixote: Eccentric noble-almost-tragic hero born in a wrong era, trying to recall the golden age of chivalry in the face of constant ridicule; sometimes delusional, always well-meaning.

Book Don Quixote: Deluded violent madman, prone to fits of rage, believes he is a knight-errant in the golden age of chivalry and justified in all his actions; his friends go out in a limb to make sure his delusions don't end up getting him killed or in jail.

He's not here anymore, as he overstepped bounds once too often. But one might say that at least he made himself into a legend before he went.

Yeah. I think Trump is probably quite unrivalled in the staggering disconnect between his supporters' views of him and the observable evidence of decades.

I can buy that his supporters might ignore the charged criticism of his opponents during his political career as just the other side's ill-will. I'm far less clear how they manage to overlook the preceding half century of evidence comfortably demonstrating that he is a bully, narcissist, liar, conman, cheat and braggart. It's not like he arrived in the White House and suddenly changed his entire personality.

Every conservative accusation is a confession.
It's the lowest-level, most hindbrain response of a criminal: "No, you did it, not me!"

I'm sure the anti-woke posters will be in here very shortly to decry the cancellation of Guto Harri.
"See, it's not actually cancel culture because...." (5000 words of pointless pabulum) "...and that's why liberals are evil."

At least Marvel tries and has people that still care. Conservative political cartoons will always be the worse, because they are truest true infection of cancel culture and pathetic snowflakes.

A legendary pain in everyone's dick, clit, or ass. Fuck the douche!

Not just that apparently, but the set-up has been a shitshow on a technical level, too.

Graphics not working, lighting issues, etc.; apparently they had a whizzo idea to run loads of a computerised system rather than use the (expensive) staff-heavy system of more established channels, and it has lots of problems. Much of this because apparently the studio setup was supposed to take three months, and ended up being done in about three weeks.
It looks like the work experience kids did it while he/she was hung over and still hadn't quite puked it all up. Just shockingly low values. I put a puppet show on for my nan when I was 7 or so that higher production values. And none of my puppets were racists.

I haven't watched. I'm not even going to grant them a single YouTube click on one of their videos.

It's my rule with the Daily Mail and Daily Express, too. Never, ever even contribute one single access that they can claim on their stats for unique daily/monthly/etc. website visitors. I will visit literally any other news website, even The Sun, if necessary. But those two (well, now three) are my red lines.

I agree, and I don't even have a TV licence so I can't watch anything anyway (I value the BBC as a whole, but the political arm has killed it for me. I mean, where did Andrew Neil just come from?). But yes, starve them.

That's kind of tricky. Andrew Neill is a good journalist, he does some really good stuff, and can be extremely incisive... and yet he's also a twat. I think a lot of his presence at the BBC was the BBC's need to counteract the perception it was a hive of lefty-liberals - so give someone famously right wing a big role. That and he's actually good at the job.

The big question of course is how long until he walks? GB News is in large part his baby, and boy he must be hurting just at the moment. Is he going to jump ship soon before it sinks, or do you think he'll try to pull it through?

I figure there are quite a few employees - potentially including Neill himself - who did buy into it thinking it would be an opportunity for something new, fresh, independent they could make their name on. Seeing it almost instantly condemned to be a half-arsed, constricted, right-wing gobshite channel might have a lot of them checking the job pages...

It's a funny thing, because people like Neil are the ones that say 'Twitter isn't real life' (and are smug dickheads while doing so), but I think that's what they banked the numbers on and many of those accounts are just bots.

No sympathy for Neil though. He's not an idiot, he's a bully stirring hate for money. I'm happy for him to choke on it. Still wonder whether he's going to get Yewtree'd on an Epstein jobby or something.

I certainly don't feel sorry for him. You're absolutely right that he voluntarily decided to go all in with inflicting a Fox News on the UK, despite full knowledge of the shitshow that Fox News is. He'll be a millionaire several times over and still have people looking to employ him even if GB News folds. Maybe he thought he could work to have some sort of standards, but given his experience he would also know that the bottom lines are viewing figures and shareholder returns, and if the viewers want non-stop screaming bigotted vitriol and dubious veracity, that's what will be delivered.

They need to imagine it for all their doughy fartboys. I seriously think one of the reasons conservatives are never happy is because they idolize traits that they cannot live up to.
Yeah, but that would require the ability of self reflection, which is rather impossible when all you do is blame the marxist, socialist, woke, gay indoctrinators. Conservatives just love having an enemy. An enemy that allows them to be as racist and hateful as they want to be. You look at some of the footage from the recent CPAC, and it's like they know how full of shit they are, but they just loving being enraged by the Left; it's their lifeblood.

And that shit is intoxicating, because I suffered from a similar thing back in my early twenties, where I was constantly getting pissed off by people talking about the environment and racial issues. Almost seeking it out just to get mad at it. And when you have someone besides you (which I did and still do) who angrily crows along, it's hard to break out of that mindset. I thankfully did, but this someone is still around me and I'll frequently hear them shouting about something "woke" in a commercial or talkshow, and how the mainstream is all Left.
