Disapointed that Valve isn't gonna bring their games to the PS3 while they can to Mac, but shit happens and life goes on.
Now off to go the orange box on the PS3...

I don't see why anyone bothers developing games for the Mac at all to be honest. Its a hassle.Xanthious said:Congrats Gabe, it already is!!! If by "Like a Mac" you mean closed and hard to develop for. . .
They develop for PS3, 360, Wii, PSP, DS, Windows, iPhone etc. However, covering all those platforms obviously requires more staff.Brotherofwill said:Why the comparison to Ubisoft of all things?Uncompetative said:It may well have something to do with the number of employees he has at his disposal:Frank_Sinatra_ said:And here is a Gamer who wants Gabe to start acting like a fucking adult and get over the difficulty of programming of a PS3.
Valve = 225
Ubisoft = 5750

Wait, did you compare Half-Life 2 to LBP because both have innovative physics features? (Is the physics in LPB really that innovative? i dunno, ive not played it)cursedseishi said:It's rather nonsensical to be complaining about the system. You don't have to make, or even port games if you don't want to. And while this would of been fine and dandy the first time he said it, cause hey, it would explain why he doesn't want to make games for it.
But god, how many times has he felt like he needed to say "Lawl PS3 FAIL"? Cause guess what Gabe, the PS3 doesn't seem to be bothering anyone whose put more than a minute into working with it. Uncharted 2 would definitely love to say hello, as would Killzone 2, or LittleBigPlanet.
Speaking of that last game, maybe that's why Gabe hates the PS3. Media Molecule beat him to the punch in releasing a fun physics-based game, and he thinks he's the only one allowed ever to make those.

Only talking about PS3's and Macs...soapyshooter said:Will he ever stop bitching? God, its getting to the point where he is like the leader of the 360 fanboys
Nintendo going nuts and trying to eliminate all their indie developers by lawsuit zerging, media bitching and a deliberately obtuse OS.Deofuta said:Hmmm is it possible that when he speaks of the gamecube he is referring to the special disk format? Or is there something else that stopped the gamecube from being considered 'open'?
Wait a second, that makes no sense. Half-Life 2 was physics-based and was released four years earlier, while Portal came out a year before Little Big Planet. How exactly did Media Molecule beat Valve to the punch?cursedseishi said:Speaking of that last game, maybe that's why Gabe hates the PS3. Because there are millions of hardcore Mac users who wouldn't otherwise buy their games?Dark Templar said:I don't see why anyone bothers developing games for the Mac at all to be honest.
