Game Music Remixer Reveals Himself as Pro Composer

Japanese game music remixer and YouTube denizen Hyadain has revealed his true identity: professional composer Kenichi Maeyamada.

Hyadain, whose work originally debuted in 2008, has been known for creative remixes of famous game music, adding clever, generally humorous vocals and jokes about the game. Earlier this week he <a href=http://ameblo.jp/hyadain/entry-10525309013.html>revealed his identity to the world, showcasing some of his professional work including the 11th opening to the long-running anime One Piece.

Despite his primarily silly repertoire, the revelation that Hyadain is a pro is little surprise to those who have followed his work. Some of his songs, such as his <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSXr99WhxDo>remix of the main Final Fantasy theme, showcased rather complex vocal work that your average fan isn't going to be capable of performing.

While Maeyamada is primarily a composer, it's nice to see the man behind the music can stand on his own voice. You can check out his full discography on his site.

Awesome. I always suspected there was more to him. His Megaman stuff is too damned good to be a fan-job.

I'm impressed, and surprised, along with probably my favorite One Piece Intro he also did Baka Test'...

This dude deserves a giant cookie.

Oh. My. God. There simply aren't words to describe that remix.

No idea who Kenichi Maeyamada is, but Hyadain is great.
From what I can tell from the discography on his site, he mostly does work for other singers with a couple odd animes in there (though those could also just be remixes too, I don't read Japanese (yet)). So it isn't that surprising to have not heard of him unless you're really into Japanese singers.

This is pretty cool news, although I'm not sure if I'm surprised or not.

I'll have to see if I can recognize any of his other songs.

Hyadain is aweome, but to be honest, I almost wish he didn't tell who he was, for the same reason I hope that Kurikinton Fox never ever exposes his face (Kuikinron Fox always wears a fox mask). Exposing who you are dispels some of the illusion.

Sweet. Most composers I know blow off video game music, nice to see someone appreciate it.

The thing I always found weird about Hyadain is that he makes all the characters gay to one degree or another. I challenge you to find any lyrics from his songs that depict a character as heterosexual.
