OMG! I would want a beach filler like that! Also, a filler arc that involves a new character that wasn't originally planned that is completely important but never mentioned before.

You also forget the most important part of a filler arc/episode : It has to come from nowhere, has absolutely not link with the current plot, and then goes back to it without any explaination after killing off any characters created in the arc/episode so they never come up ever again.

SHIT! I havn't finished season 3 yet and that beach pic may have spoilt it. Doesn't really matter though, I heard the Red Wedding ep was harsh and I guessed what happened.

So many Naruto flash backs... no, NO, I DON'T CARE, JUST GET ON WITH SHIPPUDEN, I'VE BEEN WAITING MONTHS!!!

Also, is it me or was Erin looking even more kawaii then usual on the link image?

There's also the all important filler episodes of minor characters doing something completely irrelevant.

They will just make filler episodes while waiting for George R. R. Martin to write new books.
Or it will be just like the new hobbit movie, 300 episodes per one book.

I'm not sure which panel was more amusing, beach or cooking. Either way, as long as there's brutal violence and a decent amount of nudity, nobody will notice.

....Which is more or less the same for several anime shows.

GRRM has already given the guys that write Game of Thrones a detailed outline of the plot of the remaining books, exactly due to the reasons that he's slow as shit at writing them and them being unwilling to actually wait for him to catch up to the series.

Hehehe It's funny because so much of anime is terrible.

The eyes in the cooking part killed me. Good job.

I had an almost identical conversation at work last week. we agreed we might enjoy a beach episode to cheer the series up a bit.

Also i love the 3rd panel. Cute cannibal guy.

Cooking episodes, eh? Does that make all Hannibal episodes fillers?

But they did have a rather festive beach episode!

Don't bonfires cheer you up?

No, those are just part of the creators' grand plan of instilling pavlovian reflexes, and forever making you associate torture porn with a hungry feeling.

I have wondered before whether the deal is that they will only use that if he dies (so the TV series can finish even if the books don't!) or whether at some point the TV series will just overtake the books, forcing book-devotees to depart from the internet entirely in order to avoid spoilers.

Aaaaand that is why I usually stick to the manga.

Though ironically, I watch the GoT show, but haven't read the books. Huh...

Heh, they already have filler episodes. They have advanced so far in the story that they are having to make things up and elongate the scenes.

Though this is mainly because the actual story of the books slowed down dramatically and instead concentrated on many different character arcs. Seeing as they have minimised and dropped so many of those for the television version, this means they have had to find things to fill in the gaps.

The funny thing is that anime normally tends to have beach scenes purely for an excuse to draw characters in bikinis, but GoT already makes up any excuse for nudity anyway, and of a much more overt nature as it is.
