Is it anybit ironic that i JUST commented on a forum post based on this, and yet this still brings up the same amount of WTF?

Hmmmm, actually, considering there's so few male gamer's on there, perhaps i should join this new GameCrush thing.

Ladies?

But seriously though, the Gabe bit cracked me up, sadly the links 404 when i click them.
No girl is going to pay a boy to game with her. Because she doesn't have to. The ratio of male to female gamers is so heavily skewed that no gamer girl ever really has to *try* to get guys to play with her.

Assuming, of course, she wants them to in the first place.
Ahh yes any girl can play with boys, but when do you get the opportunity to play with a MAN.

A man who looks sharp, talk sharp, and play sharp. A man who can fight off the zombie Apocalypse with you and DOESN'T screw up and not shoot the smoker while he's got you in your grasp and give a cool one liner while he....ok I'll stop but you get the point.

I think there's a few girl gamers out there who would like to play with some eyecandy that's good at video games and gives attention other then "ZOMG YUR SO H0t be my gf k!".
.
Not to say I'm a man though... I'm just another guy online on a forum trying to make a silly post....

This service is still sad though...
Honestly? I find it far easier to find guys like that amongst gamers than amongst the non-gaming population. Granted, I am incredibly biased.
O really?

So your saying Gamers are more manly, gentlemanly, and attractive then our non-gaming counterparts?

Though then again I find female gamers more attractive then non-gamers so I guess it works both ways.

In my personal experience? For the most part, yeah. Though a big part of that is probably that they don't look at me like I'm crazy when I say I want to spend the weekend playing BioShock. My ex-boyfriend did get annoyed because I was playing too much D2 on the Dreamcast, but I think that was more because I was hogging the TV.

I COULD GET PAID?!

[/joke]

Really, though, I tend to get more male attention in games that I'm bad at; from what I find, guys like to be the knight in shining armor.

And I don't see how this is worse than phone sex; at least with games and videos, you're actually interacting with the person in a manner more echoing an actual human relationship.

Best part-time job EVER.
As someone who deals with the public in a non-flirtatious industry, let me tell you this - no, it isn't. With some people, as soon as they put down money, they think they own you. (Hell, some think that without putting any money down.) And that entitles them to yell at you, swear at you, insult you, threaten you, for as long as they want whenever they want. And that's if they don't like you. If they DO like you, it can get worse. They think they deserve to see you every day, for as long as they want, know your home address (which they will try find if you - sanely - refuse to tell them), send you gifts, take you out for dinner and then back to their place....

Seriously. And I've seen that in the computer repair industry. (Yes, a coworker of mine picked up a stalker after doing an on-site repair. You shoulda seen the fucked-up notes and gifts she was sending the poor guy.)

I don't even WANT to know what goes on if the industry is covertly or overtly sexual and essentially designed to attract people too screwed up in the head to meet a flesh-and-blood woman.

Formica has pretty much said what I was suggesting earlier. I vote this best post of the entire thread

I really hope this means they cheaped-out on their servers, not that they're the Next Big Thing.

Wow, this is right up there with the whole "DnD with pornstars" idea.
That's not a compliment.

Sooo if you play a game on xbox live with a girl from there isn't it just like a normal game?
Maybe with the small exception of playing with a girl.

As for casual games i think it will go more like this.
That's possibly the best thing I've seen all day.

I really hope this whole idea just fails completely. If not then there is really no hope for humanity.

All that being said, this may be the only time in your life were you can say "Take that giant kill streak" or "Damn baby, my predator bomb is going to explode all over you"

This.... is honestly just sad.

You know, I've always resisted the stereotype that gamers are no lifers that couldn't find a real woman with a map and compass, but this is pretty much enforcing the stereotype.

"Oh em gee, a gurl! I'm willing to pay her 8.25 per hour just so she'll talk to me!"

Pathetic.

Gamer- "Alrighty, you've never played this game before right?"

Grill- "Um, yeah lol."

Gamer- "Okay then, I want you to stand right there, and I'm going to throw this round thing at you, don't worry, it's a love package."

Grill- "OKAY!"

*BOOOM*

Ah, yes, I remember seeing another topic for this, and it makes the concept no less sad. I'd find it hilarious, but it's looped around that line twice and gone back to just plain awful again.

The fact that it's possible to play with a guy as well doesn't make it less sad either. It just makes it pathetic with equal opportunities thrown in. Not that I have anything against equal opportunities but... this whole concept just does not sit well with me.

I still say that price for 10 minutes is a rip-off as well. Although if a person were so inclined, it might be a good way to make money. Let's face it, there are in fact people in the world desperate enough to turn to something like this.

Whilst Gamecrush is a sad idea, allow me to paint an alternative take on it. (I had to rack my brains on this one...)

We all know GC is going to be a niche within a niche. I guess what they're selling you is nothing more than fantasy. Fantasy that one has more friends, someone to boost with, someone to talk games with. And for the lonely gamer with no friends or social skills, this could be a real boon for them.

I suppose if nothing else, these girls could probably give gamers social skills, advice or even the confidence to meet girls in real life.

Surely it would be more pleasant to play alongside a bunch GC girls than a bunch of foul mouthed 12 year old homophobic glitchers.

I have morbid curiosity. Not intending on signing up for this, but kinda thinking about looking at this from a sociologist perspective.

Also, I'm reminded of a Beavis and Butthead episode.
