GAMER, the movie (w/ Gerard Butler and "Dexter")

Its coming out in September...I honestly hadn't heard of this film before today when a friend sent me an email...

It looks like your typical "Battle Royale"/ "Death Race" scenario taken to another level...

Oh yea...Gerard Butler is in it...also Michael C. Hall (Dexter)

Guess I will just say...the idea sounds interesting, but I don't think I will see it...it will probably be cheesy like all the other films like this...

I also doubt Gerard Butler will allow himself to be controlled by some wimpy kid throughout the whole film (or as the site describes him "a preteen Ashton Kutcher")...

It feels weird to see Gerard Butler in this...

I mean you would expect to see someone like Jason Statham...but Gerard? Oh...the jobs must not be good now that 300 is gone...

Anyway, just the premise looks cliched and uninspired, and to be honest.. why name it Gamer?
Are they trying that desperately to reach to our crowd? Edit: Found out why it's called Gamer.

To say the least, it looks like another bland and generic action movie. But to be fair, I haven't seen much of it.

Judging by some photos when I first googled for info about this movie, the film was originally called "GAME"...

Buy maybe they did change it to appeal to a certain audience...the IMDB description does say

"Humans control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online games"

I think Jack Thompson should do a cameo in this movie...to scream at everyone "I TOLD YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!"

Yeah I saw the trailer a few months back, then the Natal jokes did the rounds, but either way, i might see it.

I'm not expecting gold, but just because a film is going to be bad, it doesn't mean there's no chance of me liking it.

Its not so much about videogames as much as it is about senseless gladiator styled murder...
