Yeah, 43 pages is too much.Aenir said:I was hoping for a concise, one page listing. Oh well.
I agree completely. Really guys, we need some new stuff. No more Call of Halo Fable Dutyfield Kart 13.Jumplion said:I find is supremely sad that out of the 43 games (at the time I'm typing this), there are only three original IPs.

Dead Island
Starhawk
I mean, for fuck's sake, almost every game is either a sequel to a game we already knew was happening, a spinoff of one of the main franchises, or a reboot/revival of a franchise lost in time. Not saying that these games don't look good, but c'mon. It's either a number, a subtitle, or a number and subtitle in these games. I mean, even the downloadable game (Zombie Apocalypse 2) is a sequel! Was last year's E3 like this, 'cause I don't quite remember it like this...
Still, thanks for condensing them all into an article. Read up on some previews I didn't catch on the info dump that is E3. Looks like a helluvah year for games, that's for sure.
Didn't they say "starhawk" was also a sequel to "warhawk"?Jumplion said:I find is supremely sad that out of the 43 games (at the time I'm typing this), there are only three original IPs.

Thank you for the reminder, I'd completely forgotten about that.ECasThat said:Nothing about Sword of the Stars 2? 0_o
Yeah, I know, but that doesn't mean I have to like it! It just seems that this year is covering overwhelmingly more old IPs than more unique IPs. I could have sworn more original IPs were covered last year. Or maybe I'm mixing that up with PAX.SirBryghtside said:I'm interested in a lot of these games - by which I mean four or five, but that's more than I usually buy in a year
The problem with this kind of thinking is that old IPs being shown at these kind of events is just common sense.Jumplion said:I find is supremely sad that out of the 43 games (at the time I'm typing this), there are only three original IPs.

People don't find out about new IPs unless they're from a well-known dev - which means that unless a game is incredibly interesting (read: MineCraft, LittleBigPlanet, Scribblenauts), they have no chance of being shown. There will, undoubtedly, be great new series in the coming years. But E3 isn't the place to find them.
More of a "spiritual sequel", but shut up! Don't make it even sadder than it is now :<OhJohnNo said:Didn't they say "starhawk" was also a sequel to "warhawk"?
Oh well, they're only sequels. So long as quality keeps up, I don't care much.
Yeah, not sure why that was, but it's fixed now.KILGAZOR said:I'm getting a 404 error when trying to view the article.
It's on its way. E3 is over but our coverage isn't. Expect more previews, photo galleries and our top picks of the show early next week.ECasThat said:Nothing about Sword of the Stars 2? 0_o

They forgot to put in Insomniac's new IP [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.289643-E3-Ratchet-Clank-Devs-Meld-Guns-Gadgets-and-Jokes-in-Overstrike], by the way (really, Escapist? 4-player, high-tech, black ops Insomniac IP, and you forgot?! I am disappoint). Hopefully that cheers you up; it sure made my day!Jumplion said:More of a "spiritual sequel", but shut up! I don't think that was available on the floor, it was only an announcement after all.Andronicus said:They forgot to put in Insomniac's new IP [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.289643-E3-Ratchet-Clank-Devs-Meld-Guns-Gadgets-and-Jokes-in-Overstrike], by the way (really, Escapist? 4-player, high-tech, black ops Insomniac IP, and you forgot?!
