Games that make you feel super powerful

After watching Man of Steel yesterday and having recently only played games which are more grounded in reality, I have a sudden urge to play something that allows me, for a lack of better words, fuck shit up. Flying around, throwing things into other things, punching things into other things, that sort of superhuman stuff.

Also, please mention games which are on PC, and also exclude these games as I've already played them:

Prototype
DC Universe Online

Darksiders 2. Death is a fuckin' badass. A horseman of the apocalypse killing demons, angels, hell dragons and giant live constructs larger than the Empire State Building. It's awesome.

Well, they're still 'grounded' somewhat (moreso than Prototype at least), but you could look into hack&slash spectacle fighters. Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Rising, Lollipop Chainsaw, No More Heroes, God of War to an extent (though it's less about spectacle and more about brutality), that sort of thing. Like I said, they're more grounded and you don't do a lot of flying around and slamming stuff into the dirt, but those games are all about flash and making the player feel like a badass.

I'd particularly recommend Metal Gear Rising, myself. Some of the most spectacular boss battles I've ever seen before, and it's supposedly getting a PC version at some point in the future.

Otherwise, yeah, even actual superhero games seem to be lacking the same sort of direct punch that you'd want to feel, I suppose usually for the sake of the difficulty curve. I want a game that just sets you loose on a destruction scale even greater than Prototype.

Every game with a muscly male protagonist does... because they're all male power fantasies! (Har har!)

OT: Well it looks like Saint's Row 4 will be like that, but I'm hoping they go all out and not make it just be super speed and flying. Most god or Tycoon games can give any good person a power-trip if they put it on no-challenge mode, which is what I love about the genre.

Crackdown, For sure Crackdown. Especially at the end when you're jumping half the height of skyscrapers.

Using the Fierce Deity's Mask from Majora's Mask is also pretty damn satisfying, though you won't use it often enough to make it count as feeling all powerful.

Most New Game Pluses do that for me. Especially so in Zone of the Enders 2 where you get the Jehuty that never runs out of special bar and has all abilities unlocked from the start. That's fun.

Prototype 2. Seriously, it's all the power-tripping from the first, and then made even more enjoyable, albeit possibly a bit easier too.

And to echo other comments, Saint's Row 3, esp. once you max out your levels.

Crackdown is good for a power trip as well, although I will warn you, you will learn to hate the camera after a few hours of playing the game, and the lock-on is troubled as well, which can kill the fun VERY quickly.

Anarchy Reigns also does an awesome job of this... IF you find the right difficulty for you first however. This is Platinum game after all- when they put in a hard mode, they ain't dickin' around.

And, to some extent, Far Cry 3. Take some time to grind up your levels before tackling on the main missions, and you'll porbably feel like a god... a douchey, whiny god, but a god all the same. Or, know what? Play Blood Dragon. Feeling underpowered in that game is an impossibility.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Everything you do in the game makes you feel like a total balls to the wall hard ass.
EVERYTHING.

I am going to have to say Diablo 2. Your character just demolishes everything in it's path (for normal at least, the harder difficulties require proper itemization).

Only PC? Probably SWTOR, particularly when Jedi and Sith characters start getting their knockback abilities with which to knock enemy soldiers into chasms (and they even do the Wilhelm scream on occasion!). The other classes get some good things too like Mortar Barrage and Death From Above, but telekinesis and lightning will always trump a big rocket or flamethrower for 'feeling' super powerful.

Bayonetta ofc but thats more stylish powerful badass but not all powerful. I dont know any on PC but the game that has probably made me feel the most powerful is Asuras Wrath he goes absolutely insane its brilliant and its so OTT.

I recommend getting the game if possible just for the experience shame they had a DLC ending which I will never get, the story is good though its just I dont support most DLC. Im powering up just thinking about that game damn its stupid and so much fun.

In Kingdom Hearts and KH2 you can reach a point where you beat enemies so fast it's almost frustrating. When you get to a certain level and have the best weapons, it gets to a point where you can't even land a full combo because they'll all die in like two hits. Skyrim also has a point like that, where even if you don't use your godly dragon shouts you're still just a fucking tank that nothing can ever mow down.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't read the only PC thing til it was too late, lol. Well there's Skyrim like I said, and in Saints Row 3 if you just upgrade the default pistols to level 4 and dual wield them you can shoot up almost any part of town with ease (and with enough backup to make sure you don't get crowded). Oh, and when you get the fighter jet you'll find yourself picking fights with the military just for teh lulz.

Brutal Legend. Killing dewds with power chords? Hell yeah?
Borderlands 2. Play through the campaign, and then True Vault Hunter Mode. Then, with your TVHM loot, go back to normal mode and absolutely slaughter the enemies. Bonus points if you do it in co-op with a buddy who is way less powerful than you.

I actually got this feeling in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Max out grip and half your fights, even against top tier Sith, can be done by throwing your enemies one by one into chasms.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood is brilliant but a walk in the park. Ezio is literally a one man army and it is virtually impossible to die in combat. Still love it though.

Hulk:Ultimate Destruction.

At least until the hulk busters show up and start painting the city with you.

EDIT:
Oh PC.
Nvm.
