My epitome of video game meaning. Fun meter into overdrive, skill meter into hyperdrive and destruction into FTL drive. I can't find faults except for the menus but who fucking cares !

TAKEDOWNS GALORE ! WHOOOOOOO !
Omg yes a thousand times yes, take down those AI f**kers from burnout two in a shower of sparks flames and sheer awesome. No more Ai driving you into oncoming traffic because if they so much as get near you they will become permanently acquainted with the wall for the rest of the race no reset can save them no sript or code will stop you and your domination and revenge for the last two games that they caused so much agony in... now the tables have turned they need to run, run and hide from you.

Okay i have calmed down now...srry dont know what happened there, what where we talking about again?...... oh yeah burnout 3 back when EA was good it was a great game.

The Witcher 2

This game is near perfect, the story is well written and incredibly interesting. Gameplay is challenging without being brutal and very very fun. Voice acting is, for the most part, really good. and it looks gorgeous as well
I haven't heard any bad things about part 2. I played the first one and I thought it was a very solid game.

Assassin's Creed 2

Don't get me wrong the game has faults, but whenever I feel just the slightest twinge of frustration with it all I have to do is climb up the nearest tall building, look around and think 'Damn, this game is pretty...'.

and in 3 years that has never got old. I think it has something to do with knowing it's not just a sky box. Not only are the aesthetics so beautiful, you can explore every inch of the terrain.
Yes, ACII is unquestionably a gorgeous game. Even by today's standards it still looks really good. I don't know if you ever went back to the mountain area after the cart chase. I did because I never had time to take in the view since I was more concentrated on the driving my carriage. If you haven't gone back their and taken in the view, I highly recommend that you do. It is spectacular.

My own choice for this topic is the soundtrack to Bastion. I can how the narration, gameplay, and aesthetics might not be for everyone (I loved them) but I don't see how anyone could dislike that superb soundtrack. The song when you are carrying Zulf at the end of the game is one of my favorite moments in any video game ever. And then the credits song, I get shivers every time I hear it:
I get flamed for this a lot by the way. I played the first two and I swore never to play anymore. They are breathtaking games for sure, with very ambitious ideas but they are so easy. It's insane ...and not very fun. :(

Probably the original Paper Mario. Yeah, it's Mario-the RPG, but it's fun, and it's a way to get people who don't like RPG's into them.
Completely agree. The orignal Paper Mario, as well as Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door are some of my favourite games of all time. I can still go back and play them and enjoy them just as much as I did the first time. It's rare to find a game that feels fun so consistently.

Saints Row The Third seriously how many games mix game play and music so well, I don't care who you are if you don't feel like a bad ass in the part where you have to take back the penthouse while Power plays in the background, YOU HAVE NO SOUL!

not to mention the car sing along, the sky diving into an incoming airplane, surfing on top of air jets, when you become a contestant in the TV game show, when you participate in a wrestling match and the crowd cheers you on and counts every punch you deal in consecutive, filming a Star Wars spoof where you are the main actor, taking over the city a la Rambo, witnessing a chemical outbreak that leads to putting you in the middle of a zombie apocalypse that you have to stop or get eaten alive, beating up theme park mascots, and nothing will ever beat firing a shot gun that summons giant sewer sharks :)

seriously if you've never played this game GO PLAY IT NOW!!!!! there's so many things to see and you'll probably skip GTA:V because it'll never reach the craziness of SR 3

Objectively, I can sit back and rationalize why people dislike Halo, I really can. Shooters aren't appealing to everyone. The story can seem shallow if you haven't jumped into the books. Multiplayer can be boring, or obnoxious when you run into little kids or douchebags. Heterosexual men aren't lured into it by the sheer sexy testosterone filled shell of hotness that is Master Chief. I can understand that... until I play it.

When the controller is put into my hands and I enter in a game of Firefight or Campaign, there's this energy and adrenaline that pumps into me and I have more fun than I have had playing any other game ever, save maybe the intensity of Thief. There is nothing more satsifying that shooting a Grunt in the head with the pistol, or knocking a Hunter down with a Spartan Laser, or sticking a plasma grenade on the back of an Elite. It's so intense and so much fun and I can't imagine anyone not having fun while I'm playing it.

No need to get flamed for that. For some people, an easy game is a turn off. They want a challenge. The Assassin's Creed games are very easy. I don't mind that because it really does make me feel like the ultimate assassin but I can see why some people would be annoyed by it.
