There seem to be some great new releases coming out this year - Cyberpunk 2077, The Last Of Us 2, Resi 3 Remake, SOR 4, FF7 Remake, Persona 5 Royal etc...

Which ones are you most looking forward to and why?

Right now it's Resident Evil 3 remake and Streets of Rage 4. I might buy both copies of SOR4 on Switch & PS4. I have two Sega six button controllers my brother and I can play on my switch.

I mean....I made two threads about my most anticipated 202 game. Take a good guess at what it might be :)

Hollow Knight 2 or Freedom Planet 2

I mean I really want Doom Eternal, Resident Evil 3 and Cyberpunk but I doubt they will be as good as the aforementioned. Both Hollow Knight and Freedom Planet were amazing games that really surprised me.

Oh, also Spiritfarer, the game looks fantastic and I will be super disappointing if it doesn't leave me an emotional wreck.

There's also Star Renegades, I love the pixel art for it, although I'm still a bit wary of the gameplay since I wasn't super into the teams last game. I mean it doesn't look like the same gameplay or anything, just that I wasn't as into their last game as I wish I was.

I can't speak for cyberpunk, but Doom will be great, because Doom is eternal. RE3Remake will be good, but not as good as RE2Re. Fine in my book.

Got a few on my watchlist, tho whether I'll pick them up this year or further down the road remains to be seen.

Doom Eternal
Prodeus
Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
Hollow Knight Silksong
Cyberpunk 2077
Trials of Mana remake
Resident Evil 3 Remake (RE3make?)

How's the D-Pad on those? The ones on the original Mega Drive/Genesis and Saturn were so goddamn good. Still unsurpassed IMO.

Streets of Rage 4, fo sho.
Maneater
I WOULD look forward to CP2020 or RE3 if my comp could handle them. It can't.
Dead Pixels 2, a game that was teased many years ago is actually nearing fruition, to my joy, so it's on the list.

Gamedec
-The concept of this game is amazing and far far more ambitious than Cyberpunk (as they're both cyberpunk-y). You play as a game detective that solves crimes that take place in various MMO games like people getting sick in a Wild West MMO farming sim. The cases are prototyped by having people play through them pen and paper style to see what solutions they come up with and incorporate several different ways to solve the case into the game. Here's an article [https://www.pcgamer.com/gamedec-is-a-investigative-cyberpunk-rpg-that-swaps-combat-for-case-files/] about the game. Who knows if it'll actually deliver but the concept is pretty fucking awesome.

Baldur's Gate 3
-Larian's Divinity series is pretty awesome and the DnD5e ruleset should fix most of the issues in the Divinity games like the unneeded loot system.

12 Minutes
-If you're not interested in the game after watching the trailer, then I don't know what to tell ya.

Gods and Monsters
-I have no idea what the gameplay will be like but the trailer and artstyle looks amazing.

Desperados 3
-A Wild West themed game from the makers of Shadow Tactics!!!!!

No Straight Roads
-You control a rock band fighting against EDM-loving baddies, nuff said.

The Pathless
-From the team behind Abzu, game looks amazing as expected.

Iron Harvest
-Post-WWI mech themed game. Basically Scythe: The Video Game.

And Scythe...

The weird thing is that while I'm looking forward to Cyberpunk, I have a feeling its one of those I'll play for a bit then never touch again, like I do with the Witcher games. I always liked Resident Evil 3 more then 2, mainly because of the more action focus and it sounds like they are kinda going for the same feel. While the tense situation of 2 is nice, I prefer to be able to kill me some zombies and not strategically retreat.

I should be excited about TLoU2 but am not really considering getting it until it?s steeply discounted or a free PS+ game. I already have too many games to get through as it is...

Dark Souls 3
Sekiro
The Witcher 3
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
RE2 Remake
RDR2 Story mode 100% completion is a nice though, then Online finishing the Trader and Bounty Hunter pursuits. Not touching Moonshiners until they offer the inevitable discount/promo.

I?d really be fine not getting any new games this year, but FF7 Remake is tempting. It would be more justified if I knew the next part is years away, which is probably the case. I?d also like to finish FF5 first though anyways as I never got through that one.

They're the Sega Genesis style of controllers. They're controllers you can plug into the Sega Genesis/Megadrive mini, The Switch, or PC. I find it ironic that Iwill playing a Sega game on a Nintendo console with a 6 button Sega Genesis controller. I kind of did this with Ninja Warriors Once Again. I was playing that game on the switch with the 6 button controller. And that game was an SNES exclusive. Agreed, Sega Genesis d-pad is still the best dpad in gaming history. The deep has I just mentioned, our model exactly like the Sega Genesis originals except it's an USB port at the end of the cord.

Oh, you'll be doing plenty of treating despite having more tools at your disposal. Go back and play the original re3. It is way harder re2. The same will probably apply to the remake. If not I'll normal, then definitely on hardcore mode. Considering most of the zombie models are reused from 2remake, it's a given.

Is it much harder? I don't recall it being harder then 2, then again, I played much more Resident Evil 3 then I did 2 back in the day. RE2 I went through once or twice, RE3 I went through at least 3 times.

You just explained why yourself. You are so used to re3 that you don't notice it. Playing re3 for the first time (or not touching the game in ages), a lot of people died on their first play through multiple times. And lot of people who played a lot of the first and second game. 3 definitely starts off hard (multiple zombies in your pathl and Nemesis only adds to it. Yes you can craft any type of ammo (based on the gunpowder you find), but all of the gunpowder is randomly spawned, the Dodge mechanic is really inconsistent, even if you know what you're doing, and the motherfucking hunters came back in two forms. Trust me, RE3 was the most difficult Resident Evil game, before Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0 took that throne.

I wouldn't say it was WAAAAY more difficult. I agree it was a bit more difficult because the OG RE2 is very easy. But RE3 is much shorter and more linear. You are, however, forced to run more often.

Dammit, I keep forgetting this is a thing. It can go on the list.

12 Minutes
I might be way off, but this reminds me of Minit. I'm guessing this might be similar, in a figure out how to break the Groundhog Day loop way. Seems like it would be a difficult concept to pull off satisfactorily in a game. Still, sure, list.

Desperados 3
Didn't know about this one. Liked Shadow Tactics tho, and the original Desperados. The two sequels less so (this one is actually the 4th game). List.

The Pathless
Also didn't know about this. Nothing to add, just list.

I mean I really want Doom Eternal, Resident Evil 3 and Cyberpunk but I doubt they will be as good as the aforementioned.
I can't speak for cyberpunk, but Doom will be great, because Doom is eternal. RE3Remake will be good, but not as good as RE2Re. Fine in my book.

I'm not exaggerating. It's easier compared CV & 0, but 3 is not friendly for a first timer, despite the shorter length. Even veterans players still have difficulty with this game. Also, try telling that to 10 year old me back in 1999. Nemesis adds to stress, so in most areas you had to be on the move. When you're forced fight him, it's such a ***** as you're most likely not well equipped unless you played the game multiple times.
