Let's face it, every gamer has at some point in their lives got another copy of a game, regardless of how careful/scrupulous they are. Btw, backing up games on more than one disc or hard drive doesn't count.

So Escapists, what games do you have more than one copy of? (Bonus: What happened to the original/other copies?)

I have 3 Halo 3s (I enjoy playing with my friends). My first copy got laser-scratched when my 360 got knocked down, my second copy... well, I bought it from my friend, then his cousin said it was hers, so I just gave it to her ($40 wasted). I may have 2 Halo 2s, but my memory is a bit sketchy.

Warcraft 3.

Mostly because I keep losing the damn disc, then go to buy another copy because they are so damn cheap, only to find the disc again the very same day.

Did Blizzard give these discs feet or something?

Fable. Mine was scratched so I turned it in for a better one(it was preowned when I got it so I could do this without penalty).

It's hard to resist buying the game with the very first Platinum trophy!

I spent years believing I'd lost my copy of spyro 3.
One day in a fit of nostalgia I bought a new copy off of ebay.
The very next week I found my original copy.

I now have 2 copies of Portal.

One for the 360 and the other for my laptop.(thanks to it being free)

And pretty soon I'll have 2 copies of TF2.

Lords of Magic, because the ebay seller sent two discs even though I only bought and paid for one.

Before you say anything I did contact them and they told me to keep the extra disc, as paying for return shipping wasn't worth it to them.

Other than that I have no repeats in my collection, mostly because I do not have enough money to buy more than one copy.

Portal

Before I bought my 360, I hadn't gamed in about 7 years, but I heard lots of good things about Portal and decided to buy it for PC. Terrible decision because my computer sucked (before it died a horrible, horrible death). Even the one I'm using now can't run it smoothly, which is why I haven't used a PC to play games since Diablo. Then I bought the 360 a year and a half ago and The Orange Box was the second game I purchased.

All the games that I've bought a second or more copies of, the first copy is still ok.

Let's see...

Harry Potter 1: 3 copies.
Harry Potter 2: 4 copies.
Harry Potter 3: 3 copies
Harry Potter 4: 3 copies
Harry Potter 5: 2 copies
Silent Hill 2: 2 copies
Silent Hill 3: 2 copies
Silent Hill 4: 3 copies

And Resident Evil 4: 2 copies. The first copy I gave to a friend after another friend gave me his copy of it.

That's it.

Sacrifice -- I was young and I just loved that game... no real excuse for having two discs. That reminds me, I should replay that game... hmm...

I've got about five copies of World Of Goo in various forms, both digital and physical. It only just occurred to me the other day, and I'm not sure how I came to procure such a collection.

Heroes 4, gash I almost can't say that. Not only is it the worst game in the series, it is the only game in the series I own. And I have two. Got one for christmas, and then I wanted the expansions and the only way to get them was to buy GOTY edition. Or platina edition don't remember. Don't know waht I was thinking.

The Orange Box. Got it on PS3 first, then upgraded to Steam.

And, coincidentally, I'd bought Portal separately beforehand, so I technically have three copies of that.

I've owned the PS2 Two Towers and Return Of The King games twice, just felt like playing them again years after trading them in.

I have Portal twice as well, once in the 360 Orange Box and again on the Macbook now it's free on Steam.

I haven't gotten additional copies because I ruined the ones I had - I just like getting multiples of things. <_<;;

So...

FFIX
FFX
FFXII
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 3
Rogue Galaxy
Borderlands (in this case, I have the game for 360 & PC)

+ Others I'm sure I forgot about. e_e

Battlefield 2 and Stalker SoC twice.

I have about 5 copies of Worms Armageddon though, and I'd buy it again.

Tomb Raider 3, my old pentium II decided had to have something to eat, so chewed half of the disc, I was in the middle of the 3rd level of London when game crashes and a chainsaw like sound comes out of the CD-Rom drive, when I open it, the CD was made in pieces. Was an English version. Bought the French version with the expansion disc afterwards.

I bought Panzer Dragon for PC along with Rayman 2. Some years later I bought a collection of 10 old SEGA games and panzer dragon was one of the discs, so I got two of these also.

I also lost the original CiV 4 CD and the last expansion of Civ3 so I guess in a not distant future will buy the full collection, again :p

I've got 2 copies Fallout 3 (bought the GOTY edition when it came along). Also 2 copies of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (PS2 and PC), the 2008 Prince of Persia (PS3 and PC (though I've never actually played the PC version ^^;)), Age of Mythology (rebought it with the Gold Edition), 3 copies of Half-Life (rebought it with the Generation box and bought it for PS2 later), 3 copies of Half-Life 2 (rebought it with Episode 1 and Orange Box) and 2 copies of The Force Unleashed (PS3 and PS2, though they are really different games (PS2 version is better)).

[edit] Oh, and San Andreas for PC and PS2.
