For me its stealth games, I really like the idea of sneaking past all of the enemies instead of killing them, but i spend most of those games either running away or killing everybody since I just can?t remain undetected for long.

Any RTS game ever, I'm dreadful at them. In fact I'm so bad I don't even buy them any more despite my enjoyment of them. I have a hard time at the single player even.

Gran Turismo, I just suck at driving I guess. I don't think I've ever even golded license 'B' on any of the games, and I've played all the main ones.

RTSs are my worst enemy. I love them and have one hell of a time playing them, but man do I suck.

I'm lucky if I can even beat campaigns on easy nevertheless hard or insanity. Really ruins any chance for me playing online.

Just today I spend forty bucks on Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion and I'm downright terrible at that game, yet I've put 40+ plus hours on the original Sins and will probably hit higher on the Rebellion.

Mortal Kombat. Not for a lack of trying but I just cannot put all those huge button combos to memory and access them naturally during a real adrenaline pumping fight. That and also FUCK the 360 D-pad! I tell Sub-Zero to slide, he kicks...I tell him to throw some ice, he jumps forward...gaaah!!

Fallout New Vegas - I suuuck at role playing in this game :( when I hop into RPG's I'm thinking more about sculpting a character out of this pile of clay the game has handed me as my Avatar. but when it comes to stats in this game well I'm just doing it all wrong and because of that am still having to sneak around to avoid those freaking Geckos *shudders* creepy little bastards.

Counter-Strike. Any of them.

Every time I actually get better at the game through muscle memory, I lose interest and take long breaks. Then I have to learn from scratch.

Well right now I'm playing through Jak 2 again.

I like the game, but I have a pretty hard time with quite a few sections in the game. The racing sections in particular are the bane of my existence. I guess that says something about my skills in racing games.

I second RTS games. I love them and I'll play any I can get my hands on but trying to keep more than one unit in my mind at a time makes my brain very sad indeed.

It's not just you, the Jak II racing sections are infamous for their difficulty. I've played Jak II over 15 times from start to end over my gaming life and I still have a hard time with those races. They're outrageous at times.

OT: Gonna have to go with fighting games like Smash Bros and Street Fighter and Teken. I love the games, I'm just legendarily bad at them. T^T

I hadn't played a fighting game since Super Smash Bros. series, which I sort of liked. I saw Skullgirls was coming to Steam on part of an extremely generous userbase with the Kickstarter, so I figured it was worth getting. Especially after TotalBiscuit's WTF is...? I adored the artstyle, I liked that it was designed so that you couldn't get combo'd into a corner and lose without moving, I liked that there wasn't one overpowered character that everyone was obligated to use or else they'd be creamed into the floor, I like the constant updates, and I like the game's extensive tutorial system.

Preordered it, played a fair amount, absolutely blew dick. Being that my experience was Smash Bros., I was so unused to my attacks using more than two buttons, and my combos requiring more thought to them than flail the analogue to one direction. Skullgirls, like most fighting games, uses six buttons and combos require more thought to them than stabbing a stick in the direction I wanted. I felt outpaced doing the tutorial when it wanted me to stream together heavy-hitting attacks of altering heights when I needed a full second to remember which button was a Heavy Kick. Forget doing anything more complex than tapping the button, if I try to do a move then I wouldn't do anything but abuse my number keys and do a basic attack.

I couldn't get past the basic tutorials, I couldn't beat any of the campaigns when I reached Marie even when I was on Easy difficulty. I still try though.

normally I'm great at RTS games but when I try to play Starcraft II in a competitive manner or play the campaign on hard and Brutal mode for achievements I end up sucking all kinds of bad to the point of sheer frustration.

That and I generally tend to not want to play 1v1's on most RTS games.

Online PC shooters...
I love online shooters, period. However, my problem stems from the fact that I grew up on consoles, and have only been PC gaming for 6 years, online PC gaming even less.
Now, as I barricade my house and put on some armor, I'm going to say, I hate using a KB+M. In fact, there are times where I despise it, and have called it the worst control method ever (this was out of anger, so bear with me).

After a few years, I still hate it. I've been told that all I need is practice, that I need to get used to it, I've even been told that I just need to find the right mouse to use. I've done all of these. The worst part is, I've been home for the last couple months with nothing else to do but play PC games, and I STILL cannot use a mouse. The only benefit I've had it being able to turn around fast. As for aiming, and moving with WASD, I hate it, and while I'm better than when I started 6 years ago, I'm afraid at this point I'll never get much better.

Luckily, there is an increasing number of single player games that allow controller support, like with the 360 gamepad, so I can still enjoy PC gaming in comfort, but when it comes to online, I'm just out of luck. I can deal with not being the best, but I can only take being literally the worst so many times.

Same goes. Love me an RTS but I just don't seem have the proper... mental processes to be anything but middling at them. "Hmm that power plant would look nicer if I had placed a few inches further from the...oh.."

Also I like your cute Tyranid.

The X series. These games look like so much fun, but the learning curve is so steep. After a simple training mission, the game leaves you woefully unprepared for the rest of the game, and I never have any clue about what I should (or shouldn't) do.

Grand Strategies. Same reason.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I enjoy the shit out of that game. But Christ, ahve I rage quit that games so damn often. The moment I lose a good character, or keep getting destroyed by aliens, I flip my shit and don't play it for months on end.

Starcraft 2 for me. I like the game, but man am I crap at it. Not to say I am terrible, but in comparison to most of the other games I play, I am much less experienced and "good" at the game. I did beat both campaigns for it thus far, but with anything above normal mode I am pretty crap(at least with the later missions that actually require some thought). I mostly suck with build order and actions per sec or whatever it is called.

Fighting games, with the exception of the Super Smash series. I get totally wrecked at every fighting game I play if I'm against real players, but I still find them fun if I play against computers.

The Disgaea series... "Why is most of my assembled team still alive after that? We're clearly under-leveled in this situation..." Actually, any SJRPGs and JRPGs that actually require "skill" to win... It usually boils down to "Did I win on accident or am I just that good and still not know it yet?"

Semi-joking aside, both the GOW and DMC series constantly bust my balls for not learning enemy patterns, yet they are fun as hell just purposefully ranking those combos left and right when I choose not to upgrade my weapons... (Oh, now I see my problem...)

For me it's fighting games like Mortal Kombat, I love the MK series, but outside of maybe one character, I have a heap of trouble, even on easy mode. I guess I'm just more geared to other genres.
