GameStop Drops the Ultimate Rock ... Contest
Is your family ready to rock? Is your mom ready to rock? Are you ready to rock? That's good. Great. Perfect. GameStop wants you to bring the ruckus for a chance to win some rocking Guitar Hero booty!
While mad Guitar Hero skills are not required to win, GameStop's "Ultimate Guitar Hero Contest" [http://www.gamestop.com/gs/sweepstakes/ugh/default.aspx] does require a steady photographic hand and the ability to convincingly string words together to create coherent thoughts. Entrants have until Oct. 10 to submit a photo and a brief description (300 words or less) telling GameStop why they deserve to have glorious prizes heaped upon them.
A total of $5,000 in prizes will be distributed to the most worthy entrants in three grand prize categories. The winner of the "Families Who Rock" category will receive six free day passes to SixFlags Theme Parks and a $500 gas card. The "Moms with Star Power" category winner will receive a $1,000 gift card for the "star" treatment at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas. Finally, the winner of "Guitar Gods and Goddesses" category will receive a $200 annual subscription for guitar lessons from GuitarCenter.com. All three winners will also receive a copy of the Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit. Four first prize winners will also get a copy of the band kit and a $50 gift card to GameStop. Those who don't care to write or snap a pick can also enter the general contest for a chance to snatch up a band kit.
Ramping up the guitar rock action to incorporate drums, vocals, tons of new songs and other saucy features, Guitar Hero World Tour launches for Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii on Oct. 26.
