Shadow and Ico were great, but more for what the player puts into it than the games themselves. In Ico you had to care about the girl, in Shadow you had to share the adventure to hunt the colossal. I hope they can pull it off a third time. Although the time they are taking, maybe they wont.

Wow. I knew Gamestop had a lot of power in the games industry, hence the pre-order exclusives and stuff.

But cancelling games? That's...New.

UPDATE: Good news, everyone! GameStop screwed it up.

"The Last Guardian has not been cancelled by Sony as we incorrectly stated in an automated call to reservation customers," the company said in a statement. "Because the game did not have a specific release date, GameStop made the decision to remove the game from our system. The Last Guardian will be reinstated for pre-order when a firm launch date is known."

So hang on to those preorders, folks! Your patience will be rewarded - eventually.

I don't know. I was waiting for TLG just like everyone else, but with the staff and development issues going on around the studio/title right now I'm actually thinking maybe the game should be cancelled. I mean, even when we do get the game now, how much of it will really be the same game that was originally conceived?

I don't like multiplayer, I don't like have to wait games to install, I don't like when games/firmwares are release in a state that demands several patches. Even so I bought a PS3 because I love Shadows of the colossus... and Last Guardian still hasn't release date

Christ on a cracker, I almost raged at my screen when I saw the headline. Good to hear it was just Gamestop's mixup.

Guess that means I'm still waiting. Fine by me. I say "take your time. As long as it means we get a clean, finished product, by all means, work at whatever pace you guys deem necessary."

As someone said in the facebook responses, figuring out how to add multiplayer. Also, probably looking through the game to see what sections can be removed from the main game and turned into day 1 DLC.

All of the above may not be true, by the way.
