Gaming and religion - does it matter?

So I'm starting this topic after seeing quite a few religious debates going on. It's surprising to see the many denominations this forum houses (we even have a scientologist! Awesome).

So more in the spirit of the Escapist: since this is a website for and by gamers, I wonder: do your religious views in any way affect your choice in games? Are there some games you don't really want to play because they interfere with your personal beliefs, do you have a preference for other games? Do you enjoy some games more, or some games less?

Sort of. I'm a Christian myself and I personally find games such as GTA distasteful, and in games with moral paths or choices I always prefer the good path (BioShock, Mass Effect, KOTOR, etc.) I understand that games are just games, but I don't get satisfaction from making people suffer or being a jackass, in real life or games.

nope, not in the slightest.. hell If I want to be technical.. Im Buddhist, and it's a drive to allow all things to come and be experienced..

games create unique experiences..


so in that logic All games are good.
