Last week I went in to a Wal Mart (ugh...) and they were charging nearly NINTY dollars for the latest releases. Borderlands is good, but I shouldn't have to take a second mortgage to afford it!
That sir, is ridiculous. The Wal-Mart I go to has games for I want to say $59.94 for new releases. You'd think Wal-Mart would have a standardized rate for these things seeing as how $60 is like " The Price " for new releases.

You don't know the half of it. Not only do I hate that people think four cents is a significant enough drop in price to buy from a company that undercuts its suppliers, they also grossly overprice many things in my local outlet.

They also are trying to shift Call of Duty 4 for the low, low price of SEVENTY Canadian, Guitar Hero: World Tour for nearly TWO-FUCKING-HUNDRED, and the Bioshock/Oblivion combo for (sit down for this one) ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY DOLLARS.

I went straight up to the manager and asked what the hell was going on, and he said that he was told by the Head Office to put those prices. But the way he said it, he was basically saying "We here at Wal Mart know you idiots are willing to shell out exorbitant fees for these little toys, and are too stupid to walk East for three Goddamn minutes to get to EB Games.".

He really needs a kick in the teeth.
$130?!?! What country are you in? That sux, because where I live it costs like $40 new...

A few years ago I bought the original Fable from a local game shop. As soon as I was outside I opened the case to check everthing was there and discovered that they hadn't even put the disk in, I went back inside and told them but they wouldnt take it back because I'd taken the security label off. After a few minutes of negotiating they told me to come back in half an hour when the manager would be back, half an hour later I came back and almost immediately they handed me the disk without even looking at my reciept or anything.

This shop is always screwing up though, I remember when I bought the DS internet browser from them but all they'd put in the box was the memory expansion unit. Once again I got the security label talk before they eventually gave in and gave me a refund.

I went into GameStop to sell a few games. I had checked their website beforehand and it had said that I would be able to get $20-$25 for inFamous. I bring it to the store and they say they'll give me $12. I said screw it and went home. Checked their site, and the deal was expired.

They still have this advertisement on the site. Saying that over 150 titles are worth over $15. The offer expired October 25th. So almost a month and a half later they still have the ad on their site. I don't go to GameStop anymore.

The Edge card thing at my GameStop is helpful for me. My most recent subscription cost was -$3. Due to it giving a bonus on trade ins and discount on used games, it made me money on my first go.
It would be annoying them pressing on you time after time though.

The biggest rip-off is with PC games. You pretty much CAN'T return them unless the disc itself is dead.
Blame pirates for that. It's incredibly easy to hack a PC game so you don't need the disc.

I guess its not really ripping-off, more of a way to get more money, but my controller for Guitar Hero broke and the warranty was over. so i went looking in my local stores to find a new controller, only to find the controllers they had were the special rock band beatles edition ones... for like £80 (about $140 i think). I walked out and went to the trusty internet where i got the same controller for £35 brand new! =)

You bought the game on release and didnt like it.....$30

The magazine was garbage 7.5 = 5 so everything that was "Decent" was almost perfect and everything that wasnt a 7+ was a 1-3

GameCrazy isnt to bad, they dont have a huge selection near me tho

Well, I did say "SEVENTY Canadian,". But apparently, because I would normally never be caught dead even giving Wal Mart's website traffic, they're not all like this here. Just this slightly-bigger-than-average-for-Wal-Mart piece of shit.

You should really get online and and go to Wal-Mart's site and print out the actual price and throw a huge ***** fit because that is re-god-damn-diculous. Some how I feel this Wal-Mart of yours needs to be reported to a 'better business bureau' or the Canadian equivalent, since I am assuming that's where you are from.

My local Game is not too bad, the staff are all nice and they do tend to keep a good selection of titles. I used to work in a Gamestation about two and a half years ago for about a year and a half. So I know what it's like from both sides but i would never lie to a customer if they ask for my honest opinion, just like in my current job.
