GDC Doubling Floor Space for 2007
The CMP Game Group announced today that it will be doubling the show floor space for the 2007 Game Developers Conference.
Following the neutering [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/newsroom/view/63629] of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in July, the CMP Game Group, organizers of GDC, are taking the lead [http://www.gdconf.com/expo/GDC07opportunities.htm] to provide "a single, one-stop shop event," by dramatically increasing their planned expo floor space for 2007. GDC, despite rapid growth and greater media attention, has historically been an insider's event where, in 2006 [http://www.gdconf.com/expo/index.htm], "98% of 2005 attendees rated the information provided at the GDC relevant to their jobs." Whether this expansion is an indication of a change in focus for the conference reamains to be seen.
GDC will take place March 5-9, 2007 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
