Gears of War Creator Is More Than Chainsaw Guns

... Am I the only one that doesn't get the fascination with the chainsaw gun?

I know that the Lancer is a solid weapon in the game and the concept is neat, but the chainsaw is actually pretty impracticable in the actual game. Aside from Chainsaw battles, there's really no reason to use it.

I know it's there for the Rule of Cool, but when compared to the Gravity Gun, Portal Gun, and BFG, it doesn't really hold up.

Its a chainsaw on a mothereffing gun. Hell its gimmiky but not as gimmiky as the gravity gun or as infuriating to me as the portal gun. Its a standard assault rifle that is synonymous with the Gears of War franchise. The sound, the bullets in the clip, its just a signature weapon. I'll give you the BFG but the day a glorified grab ability is considered a better weapon than a chainsaw machine gun is the day the Tau get an update.

My weapon has to be a Bolter/Shuriken Catapult because firing bullets is for pussies.

Didn't he basically put a Space Marine's bolter and Chainsword together? It's not that incredible. Square had a gunblade(wimpy as it was, it's basically the same thing on a smaller gun.) in Final Fantasy many years before.

Wasn't this the Epic Games asshole who kept saying PC was gone for ever and they shouldn't even make games for PC anymore?

I think I'll remember Carmack and Romero when talking shooters with my grandkids. To be honest I don't have the slightest idea what was the first TPS, it was mostly a console thing at first no?

Actually, I remember him for the few maps he did for Unreal Tournament, Jazz Jackrabbit, and Gears of War. Don't know why he thinks people will remember him for chainsaw guns.

Probably the pictures of him around the net posing with the chainsaw gun like it's his first born child.

I somehow misread that as having something to do with pictures of him still in the womb, holding a chainsaw gun.
Does that make sense?

Not really, but it made me laugh.
