Gears Of War PC Patch Fixes Digital Certificate Bug

Epic Games [http://www.epicgames.com/] has released a patch for the PC version of Gears of War that fixes a problem with the Windows digital certificate that prevented the game from launching.

Owners of the PC version of Gears of War got a rude shock [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.85979] in late January when they attempted to run the game: An error message telling them they "cannot run the game with modified executable code." In response to a frenzy of forum posts, Epic said the inclusion of the certificate was simply an oversight. "This was a surprise to us too," said Epic programmer Joe Graf. "We're trying to figure out how and why it happened so we can get it fixed."

The job is now complete, and with the new update installed PC gamers can get back to the business of defending Sera from invading subterranean goons. Along with the rather important fix to the digital certificate, the new patch includes all previously released updates and bug fixes, so if you're a lazy sort who's never bothered updating, this might be a good time to get on it.

Hell, it's about time.
I've had to have my comp think it's the 1st of January for a while. And most of my games like to remind me the date is wrong, and even Gears Reminded me at one point.
