Why can't you play along and go "It's a secret!" in a playful voice. Then you'd have a good idea if she likes you by what kind of reaction you get from her. You can be too truthful in situations like this, but having some fun with it is probably your best bet. Eye contact is useful too, you can guage a lot of what she really means if you do that.

You should've said some sports team, and then when she made a face said "O like girls, o well you, but you will have to work for it." That seems to work (unless she was just fuckin with you, I've actually had a girl do that to me it was awful).

Ask her "What does it matter?" or "Who said I like anybody?", just something ambiguous to try and find out her intentions.

If you're confident she likes you/you've got the balls, say "You" and ask her out.

This for sure, it's cute, flirty and direct. If she smiles and you stare or something you have a spark, congrats. If she says "Oh" and looks away quickly it could mean she is embarrassed by an unexpected response or she is showing she's not interested. This question could all just be a set up to gauge if you like her because she likes you.

I'm actually going to ask this girl out in my art class that I've been crushing on for the last month and a bit. I'm pretty sure she likes me and we click easily, but she doesn't really want to date and hasn't for years, but since it's I only have a semester with her, she's in Grade 11 while I'm in 12 I'll give it a shot.

I'd say that. Being a bit flirty and letting her know it's her in a subtle way so that she can't be sure draws her out a bit. While you shouldn't keep her on a leash, you will need to do some drawing out to find out if she likes you or is even remotely interested.

now, and only for a short period of time before banishment to the friend zone, you have a chance. Screw up all your confidence and pull her aside after class and tell her "You asked me who i liked the other day, it's you." then ask her out. just do it soon or you may miss your chance. Don't seem overeager though. easier said than done I know, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Don't appeal to the internet. 100% anonymous. 99% essentially don't care what happens to you. Honestly.

That said, be honest. Schoolyard (even through University) drama comes from people fussing too much about stupid crap. She asking who you like may or may not be an indicator that she likes you, or that she wants to find out that you like her and then make fun of you, or hook you up with her friend if you say no one. Or she just wants to freaking know who you like. You responding dishonestly will just let her know it is not her, so then you have no grounds to say you do later.

Say yes. If she likes you back, hooray! Enjoy your relationship until summer or Uni, or you get jobs; or maybe it lasts forever and ever. If she doesn't, you just saved yourself a lot of stress over something that's never going to happen, missing out on opportunities to get with someone who does.

she'll wonder why you didn't give a straight answer, this helps create sexual tension, it will make her wonder "huh, does he like me or is he messing with me? why wouldn't he like me? i'm great! let me try flirting with him some more etc. etc."

sadly if you didn't respond or gave a total wuss answer, i.e. "actually crushing on you", you blew it; which isn't a bad thing, mind you. You just learned from your mistake. With girls, it's never wise to be COMPLETELY open early on. Develop a mystery around yourself, but a mystery a girl would like to know. Hence, be charming in your own way (making cocky jokes, read a lot, etc).

Saying how you feel is a one way ticket to see-you-later-ville. A place I have personally been to many a time. But after much experience for the past 7 years, best advice I can give you is be yourself (but don't let her know ALL about you all at once). Sucker her in, tease her, MAKE her want YOU, MAKE her attracted to YOU
