Alright I never would have thought that I would even post on this board, and a part of me feels like this will be a fruitless venture and will not remedy the situation that I am dealing with right now. However I am hoping by the act of getting this off my chest will help me feel a little less confused. So I'll start with a little history.

My best friend... let's call her Meg; was being pursued by this guy she met in college (We'll call him Calvin.) At the time she was not interested in him and turned down his advances. He of course got the point and moved on. A few years later he's had become successful, better looking and has a future of becoming a professor teaching theater. Now of course when Meg sees Calvin's huge turn around she regrets her decision and falls for him. Naturally he says he's not interested in her like that; however they remain good friends and all is well in Whoville.

...Until now.

Here is where I come into the mix. At the present time Meg is still single and obnoxiously "frustrated", Calvin is in a non serious relationship, and so am I. The weirdness happened tonight when Myself, Meg and Calvin wanted to have dinner and hang out. I and Meg would usually mess with Calvin's mind but I assure you it was all in jest on my end, however Meg had other plans. She seemed to be really anxious to get us two together. Now here's where it gets stupid, so bear with me. Meg decides in her warped brain that it would be a great idea to grab my hand and put it on his crotch. I'll admit I didn't mind and neither did he but it's really fucking awkward if Meg is enjoying this. That wasn't the only thing that happened but I'm too out of sorts to go in to anymore details.

Eventually I became frustrated, confused and kind of pissed. And eventually after some awkward moments they finally left.

Okay now that I have that out. I'm going to ask you guys what the fuck is going on here? This is way too confusing even for me. And I am in need of another brain to process the amount of bullshit I have to deal with.

She's trying to remedy the situation (two people hitting on her that she isn't as interested in as she thinks) by using subtlely desperate means?

She sounds extremely confused. Lay off for a bit and let her figure herself out first.

OH! And Welcome to the Escapist!

Stay out of the basement. All the cool kids are doing it.

Why thank you! And I'll be sure to keep your suggestion in mind.

Okay I know this post sounds really confusing. Trust me I'm extremely confused but are you talking about Meg or me? Also I wasn't hitting on her. Me and friend were in lack of a better term hitting on Calvin.

I'm female. And no I don't like him that way. Now that I look back on how I acted (even though I made it really clear that I was joking around) it really wasn't the smartest thing to do. And me and Meg talk about this almost all the time. In my opinion I think she still has feelings for him but she won't admit it. Let's just say that the stitched together quilt of her stony silences forms a tapestry of quiet desperation. (Sorry I couldn't help myself)

I don't have the knowledge or experience to answer this. The only thing I could say is that you should simply express your feelings to Meg, tell her you didn't appreciate all of that. And it might be a good idea to explain to Calvin that you don't feel attracted to him. I mean that guy is going to be confused. I know I would.
