Recently beat Dante's Inferno, and after all the accusations of it being a rip off of God of War I decided to get the GOW collection on PS3. I can totally see why people have said this. Dante's Inferno has basically the exact same attacks and control scheme. Not to say it's in any way bad that is.
However, there is one thing in GOW that I think makes it a painfully frustrating game to play. When you're faced with more than 3 enemies you are just spammed to hell, and blocking is useless after the first third of the game. It just reminds me of all the bad design decisions made on games in the PS2 era. Worst is facing 1 powerful enemy and loads of minions. They just keep attack spamming you on the ground until you've lost 3/4 of your health. The game could have been so much better with a tiny little statistical tweak.
Oh, and the bit where you're in the desert following the Sirens' songs. The wind is so loud! If you're going to make an audio puzzle don't make the ambient sound louder than the puzzle!
But believe it or not though I really like this game.
