The difference is that Snake is not a straight shooter character, he's smarter than that. Kratos has killed invisible enemies, but Perseus was mainly brought down due to his own overconfidence, something Snake doesn't display (but his enemies ussually do). As I recall, invisibility and an alternative way of looking (the Solid Eye, for instance) was what beat Medusa the first time.

it might be possible, but still. just swinging euryales head around untill it gets eye-contact with snake by chance. i know snake is a very smart man, but also, he could just run around swinging his blades of athena in the windwheel motion untill he hits him. tho he might get sniped, kratos is a god, and could endure thousands of bullets i think.
