It took me 3 while minutes to remember that GoW may also not stand for Gears of War. Therefore: PEOPLE, STOP USING OBSCURE ACRONYMS!

As for the boss fights, let him fight the Persians. A man vs. army matchup, not god vs. army.
I still think Gears of War should be abbreviated as "Gears"...

God of War came first, so it gets GoW first.

Has he fought Hercules yet? If he hasn't, that would be interesting on so many levels(seeing as how they're both sons of Zeus...)
Of course, his other brother would be cool to fight as well.
Wait a minute, that would mean that Kratos would kill his entire family! Interesting...

A chimera(not the aliens from resistance). In greek mythology i believe it was a giant lion with a goat's head coming out of it's back with a snake as its tail. I think it could also exhale fire.

I would say he needs to fight two Gods simultaneously. Or maybe, one God and a Titan. Have Artemis riding on the back of Chronos.

He should fight Cthulu.
If you fought Cthulu you couldn't beat the game. He is too awesome.
Since when did unimaginable horror become awesome? Have I stumbled mistakenly onto 4Chan again?
You mean you wouldn't be filled with awe (the horrifically mind bending variety or otherwise) seeing a giant winged, squid headed Great Old One?

We should fight Jesus just to throw in a twist
lol that would be awesome the quick time mini game for him could be nailing him to the cross in the most brutal fashion

i am not sure i follow you, are you appalled because it is jesus or because crucifiction is brutal?

edit- and on topic Morpheus and Nemesis would also be very interesting enemies
nemesis is a half-goddess, she would be less of a match than the hydra. and morpheus aided persephone in chains of olympus. when she was destroyed, he returned to olympus.

um, do you know anything about greek mythology? the titans are the arch-nemesis and parents to the gods. they would never cooperate. chronos would just grab artemis and pop her head like a melon. tho 2 gods at the same time would be a good idea. i would say hephaestus and aphrodite. they are husband and wife, and hephaestus would be cool. a 1-legged god that throws fireballs and such (he lost 1 leg when hera had him thrown down mount olympus as a child.)

i must confess i have only played the ps2 GoW games. however according to mythology nemesis is a fury(spelling) not a goddess or half goddess, she is the personification of divine vengeance therefore, she is able to punish even the gods themselves(the oddessy and the Elysium secrets, not to mention the entire island of rhamnos(spelling) as well as a number of classic tragedies) unless of course she has been introduced into the game franchise as a half god, which is pretty weird... anyway then one of the furies at least...or all of them at the same time

-edit Orpheus would be interesting to fight as well, have his head chopped of by kratos instead :p

or perhaps the three judges of hades, rhadamanthys(spelling) and the ilk

Some guy, who the only way to kill him, is to brutally rip his head off, or any other body parts, or maybe even more than one body part.

Damn... I knew that too. Well... Here, how about this:

The Gods see the power of Kratos and fear it. They don't know what to do, so they turn to their once sworn enemies. However, the Titans remember the betrayal. They plan to let the Gods die, until they see the unbridled kindness when the Gods make them brownies and help Gaia overcome her fear of asking Atlas to the prom this year.
It becomes one of the most heart warming stories of the entertainment year.

Yeah? Awesome, right?

uhm Aphrodite and Hephastios are "married" in the same sense that someone is married to a woman who cheats on you first time she gets because Ares is more muscular. on a side note let Kratos fight Kirke as a pig.

nemesis was no fury, as she had arms that could transform into WEAPONS. not silly wings. and yes, nemesis was a goddess (found out looking through my gallery of books). she had wings, but arms too, meaning she was no fury. she is older than zeus, being an offspring of Nyx, the godess of night, who were born of Chaos (the empty universe) after Gaia. and no, she could not smite the gods in retribution. she was a punisher of the mortal living, thus having no godly strength. only enough to cut up every mortal in existence, and after Kratos defeated Ares, he became a god. thus Nemesis can not harm him. she can curse and swear at him and wave menacingly with her arms. Nemesis would be stabbed in the face with her own swords.
