Grand Theft Auto V Drops a Dozen New Screens

Rockstar has released 12 new Grand Theft Auto V screens offering a fresh taste of life in the Los Santos fast lane.

The title says it all: What we have here are screen shots, 12 in all, of Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto V. Are you excited? We're talking cars, motorcycles, boats, helicopters, a nearly-naked man on a quad, gunfire and the scenic vistas that tie it all together. It's everything you'd expect from a Grand Theft Auto game!

Not much more to say about this extravaganza of visual treats, so I will instead note that the last week [http://www.change.org/petitions/rockstar-release-gta-v-on-pc], is now over 285,000 signatures and will almost certainly reach its goal of 300,000 sigs very soon. Once that happens, Rockstar will surely be forced to release a PC version of the game within six months to a year after the console launch, just as it has done with every other title in the series since Grand Theft Auto III.

Grand Theft Auto V comes out on September 17 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I hate it when they Photoshop screenshots to make them look better than the real thing. It's so obvious too. Or perhaps it's from the yet unannounced PC version. Whatever the case, this is not how the game will look like on the PS3 and Xbox 360. We've all seen the trailers. We all know it.

These screens are so tweaked that they are kind of pointless, unless like Adam Jensen said they are from a PC build (and even then they wont have this quality, this is basicly rendered with everything set to max, probably even shit that you are more likely to find in 3D render software then in the game options, the shadows for example just look way too good)

All in all the game still looks nice in the trailers and even though some things look less detailed it does have a cleaner look to it that I enjoy

PS4/Xbone?

Rockstar can't seriously be making this without one eye on the next generation, whether they've admitted to it or not there's much more potential for long term sales on the next wave of consoles, especially if the first couple of years of first party titles is the bland-fi FPS fest it's looking to be.

Nice as usual but we all know it's not how the game is really going to be.

Sadly though I can already see one of two scenarios happening anyway and both of them involve bashing the console gamers which is really sad for some to have to suffer for others bad behaviour.

Now I would not say it uses any 3rd party software. There are games from 2007 and 2008 that are QUITE A BIT more impressive when it comes down to their tech, lets not even talk about things like Metro Last Light, Crysis 3, Total War 2. But this does look like:
1. The PC version.
2. A console version, that also runs on 1024x768 or something resolution. And that is not good.
Not really saying that they are using 3rd party software, just saying that they are rendering this images in-engine with certain settings that are not available in the retail game due to slowing down the game to a crawl (even on PC).

Its the same thing with 3D rendering software, no matter how strong your PC is, just by have some settings on, there is no way of having that running on real time.

I'm pretty sure they'll release it on next-gen as well. The announcement will probably come at the same time they announce the PC version. But they don't want to lose any current gen sales and pre-orders by announcing a next gen version.

Yeah it's obvious those pics are fixed up, however we have all seen game play and it still looks amazing.

Not a pre-order for me, but definitely getting this shortly after release.
